Is surgery necessary for varicocele?

Varicose cord is a common disease among men. Many young and middle-aged men may suffer from varicose cord. This disease has a great impact on men's physical health and may also lead to male infertility. Varicose cord needs timely treatment. Generally speaking, surgery is the best option, and it should be accompanied by nursing care.

The surgery is performed under MINI laparoscopy. Three "keyholes" are made in the abdomen and an operating scope is inserted. The varicose varicocele can be ligated at a high position under direct television viewing, which minimizes the trauma and avoids the pain of surgery. The main purpose of the surgery is to prevent infertility.

The incidence of varicocele accounts for 10% of the male population aged 30 to 40. 90% of cases occur on the left side and are caused by congestion of blood flow in the spermatic vein, which causes the venous plexus to dilate, become tortuous, and become longer. Varicocele can also be caused by a kidney tumor. The reason why varicocele deserves attention is that it may be accompanied by testicular atrophy and sperm production disorders, leading to infertility.

Patients with varicocele may feel a dull pain, like a small bag of worms crawling into the scrotum, or they may not feel anything at all. However, when standing, the varicose venous plexus can be seen or felt in the spermatic cord area. If you inflate your stomach and increase the abdominal pressure, you can see that the varicose veins become more severe. A few people may also suffer from neurasthenia. In more serious cases, there will be pain and heaviness in the scrotum and lower back pain from standing for a long time, but lying down and resting can relieve the symptoms.

Postoperative follow-up examinations of patients with varicocele showed that sperm quality was significantly improved, fertility was restored and pregnancy was achieved.

harm

1. Cause physical discomfort in men

Patients with varicocele often experience a feeling of heaviness and pulling pain in the scrotum. Patients may also suffer from some negative emotions and symptoms of neurasthenia, such as abnormal mood, fatigue, insomnia and other discomforts, which bring many negative effects to male friends.

2. Cause sexual dysfunction in men

Men with varicocele often experience sexual dysfunctions such as low libido, pain during intercourse, and erectile dysfunction, which cause disharmony in family life.

3. Cause male infertility

Varicocele may be accompanied by testicular atrophy, which may lead to abnormal sperm and semen diseases such as dead sperm, oligospermia, and asthenospermia. It is the disease with the highest incidence rate among male infertility.

4. Produce toxicity

Effects of toxic substances In varicocele, blood from the left renal vein flows back into the left internal spermatic vein. Therefore, adrenal metabolites, such as cortisol, catecholamines, and 5-HT, may reflux into the spermatic vein and have a toxic effect on the testicular seminiferous epithelium.

5. Sperm production disorder

When varicocele is caused by increased testicular temperature, the testicular temperature rises due to the lack of good venous return to the testicles. The occurrence and growth of sperm require a specific temperature environment, so they are not adapted to the temperature increase, and sperm production is hindered.

Minimally invasive treatment

1. Visual operation without damaging normal tissues: Because the operation is completed under the computer navigation system, it is in a completely visual state, and the lesion site can be accurately found without damaging other normal tissues.

2. Minimally invasive and painless, with almost no bleeding during the operation: the trauma is very small and no sutures are required.

3. The treatment time is only 15 minutes, and the three-year recurrence rate is only 0.86%: A postoperative follow-up survey of patients with varicose veins showed that the surgery has a good cure effect, the three-year recurrence rate is only 0.86%, and the pregnancy rate is significantly improved.
