Appendicitis acupuncture points

Appendicitis acupuncture points

Appendicitis is a very common disease in the human body. This disease has a great impact on patients and usually causes severe pain in the abdomen. Generally speaking, people who are faced with appendicitis will have it removed surgically. In fact, appendicitis can be treated through massage. So what are the acupoints that can treat appendicitis? Let’s introduce them in detail below.

Appendicitis often causes patients to suffer from pain, and it can be divided into acute appendicitis and chronic appendicitis. Appendicitis can be treated with medications or surgery to remove the appendix. Generally, acute appendicitis needs to be treated surgically to prevent the risk of appendicitis perforation. Chronic appendicitis can be treated with more conservative traditional Chinese medicine methods such as acupuncture and herbal medicine. There are also several specific acupoints for relieving appendix pain, but the pain needs to be closely monitored. If it becomes more severe, you need to go to the hospital for further examination.

1. Acute appendicitis

Acute appendicitis is usually treated with surgery because it is often severe. After diagnosis by a hospital doctor, choosing appropriate treatment can quickly relieve pain and ensure abdominal health. Although acupuncture can be used to relieve acute appendicitis, this method is not highly recommended. You must undergo a comprehensive examination at a regular hospital before making a decision.

2. Chronic appendicitis

Chronic appendicitis can also be relieved by taking Western medicine or treated with Chinese medicine. The treatment uses Da Huang Mu Dan Tang, which comes from the Golden Chamber. This medicine is composed of rhubarb, peony bark, peach kernel, wax gourd kernel, and Glauber's salt. The specific dosage should be consulted with a doctor before use. In terms of massage acupuncture, you can massage the two acupoints, the appendix point and the Zusanli point. The appendix point is located on the outer side of the calf, 5 inches below the calf nose and one horizontal finger away from the anterior edge of the tibia. The patient sits upright or lies on his back with his knees bent. The point is located at the most obvious point of tenderness between the Zusanli point and the Shangjuxu point. Zusanli is located about 4 finger widths below the outer side of the kneecap. Or through acupuncture on the appendix point, Zusanli point, and right Tianshu point.

In summary, for appendicitis pain that is not too severe, it can be relieved through acupuncture, massage and other methods. However, this treatment is not very thorough, so the patient's symptoms need to be closely monitored to prevent appendicitis from worsening. The Appendix point and Sanzuli point are two main acupuncture points that can be massaged under the guidance of a professional doctor to relieve the pain caused by appendicitis. You can also take decoctions at the same time, of course, under the guidance of a professional doctor. Appendicitis should not be ignored and should be treated appropriately.
