What are the symptoms of internal hemorrhoids? Internal hemorrhoids are divided into four stages. Do you know?

The symptoms of internal hemorrhoids are usually mild and painless. They will be aggravated by constipation or diarrhea, which is called an internal hemorrhoid attack. When internal hemorrhoids occur, the hemorrhoids suddenly swell, protrude, burn, and hurt, and feel throbbing and like a foreign object. So what are the common symptoms of internal hemorrhoids?

Common symptoms of internal hemorrhoids are as follows:

1. Blood in stool: Bleeding during or after defecation, bright red in color, sometimes with a small amount of blood on the surface of the stool, or staining toilet paper red, sometimes dripping or spurting blood. If bleeding occurs repeatedly for a long time, it can also cause anemia.

2. Prolapse: As the volume of hemorrhoids increases, they are squeezed by feces during defecation, causing them to gradually separate from the muscle layer and prolapse out of the anus. In severe cases, in addition to prolapse during defecation, they may also prolapse with any exertion, walking, coughing, sneezing, squatting, etc.

3. Pain: Simple internal hemorrhoids are generally painless, and sometimes only cause a feeling of heaviness in the anus or difficulty in defecation. If the hemorrhoids are inflamed and swollen, there may be thrombosis or incarceration inside the hemorrhoids, which will cause pain. If the hemorrhoids are prolapsed and not repositioned in time, incarceration, ulceration and necrosis will occur, causing inflammation and edema of the anal margin, which will cause severe pain.

4. Mucus outflow: In late-stage internal hemorrhoids, secretions often flow out due to relaxation of the anal sphincter. In mild cases, it will flow out during bowel movements, and in severe cases, it will flow out naturally even without bowel movements.

5. Itching: Due to the stimulation of secretions or prolapsed hemorrhoids, the area around the anus becomes damp and unclean, causing eczema and itching. The itching is sometimes caused by the reflex action of prolapsed internal hemorrhoids.

6. Internal hemorrhoid attack: Hemorrhoids suddenly swell, protrude, burn, and hurt, and feel throbbing and like a foreign object. Due to the squeezing of dry feces, hemorrhoids are prone to rupture and bleeding, and sometimes the swelling does not disappear. Hemorrhoids may also become necrotic due to infection, suppuration, and ulceration.

Internal hemorrhoids are divided into four stages. Do you know them all?

① Stage I internal hemorrhoids: There is blood or dripping blood or spurting bleeding during bowel movements, but there is no prolapse of the internal hemorrhoids, and the bleeding stops on its own after bowel movements.

② Stage II internal hemorrhoids: bleeding, dripping blood or spurting bleeding during bowel movements, accompanied by prolapse of internal hemorrhoids, which can retract on their own after bowel movements.

③ Stage III internal hemorrhoids: blood or blood dripping during bowel movements, accompanied by prolapse of internal hemorrhoids, or prolapse of internal hemorrhoids when standing for a long time, coughing, fatigue, or carrying weight, and must be manually reduced. (Surgery is required to cure)

④ Stage IV internal hemorrhoids: internal hemorrhoids prolapse and cannot be retracted, and internal hemorrhoids may be accompanied by strangulation and incarceration. (Surgery is required to cure)
