Are abdominal tumors serious? What are the symptoms of abdominal tumors?

The incidence of tumors has been increasing in recent years. Modern people’s living habits and environment are one of the main causes of this disease. So what are the symptoms of tumors?

1. Infection

One of the common symptoms in patients with advanced cancer. While cancer patients are receiving treatment, their immune systems are also damaged to varying degrees, especially after radiotherapy and chemotherapy. It is very easy to be infected by pathogenic bacteria and die.

2. Fever

Most common symptoms in late-stage cancer patients. There are many causes of disease, such as bacterial and viral infections, connective tissue diseases, and functional fever.

3. Pain

Late-stage cancer often destroys and invades normal tissues, causing compression and damage to adjacent nerve roots, local tissue necrosis due to ischemia, obstruction of blood return, and infiltration of bones and periosteum, all of which may cause severe pain.

4. Nausea and vomiting

It is a common symptom in patients with advanced cancer and is often more distressing than cancer pain. Nausea and vomiting can be side effects of treatment; they can also be caused by cancer invading the digestive or nervous system; or they can be psychological effects such as anxiety.

5. Difficulty breathing

It is one of the more difficult symptoms to deal with in patients with advanced cancer, including dyspnea caused by bronchial spasm; dyspnea caused by lung infection; dyspnea caused by poor heart function; dyspnea caused by superior vena cava obstruction.

6. Cachexia

Advanced cancer patients experience symptoms of extreme weight loss, fatigue, and anemia.

7. Malignant effusion

Malignant intracavitary effusion is an important complication in advanced cancer and is not uncommon in clinical patients. However, if not handled properly, it may cause cancer cells to worsen and lead to death. The sites where malignant intracavitary effusion occurs include the thoracic and abdominal cavities, peritoneal cavity, pericardial cavity, etc. Malignant pleural effusion accounts for about 1/4 of pleural effusion.
