What to do if your eyes are burned by electric welding? Emergency treatment methods

Anyone who has seen electric welding work knows that it is a very dangerous job, because people often have to work in a flash of lightning, which can cause great harm to the human body if they are not careful. Among them, the eyes are the biggest victims. If they are operated in violation of regulations, the welding light may damage the eyes.

1: Emergency measures for welding light eye injury

1: The first step is to close your eyes and apply a cold water towel to your eyes, changing it every 20 minutes.

2: The second step is to use fresh milk (fresh breast milk is best, but fresh milk can be used instead) to drop into the eyes, once every 2 hours.

3: The third step is to use chloramphenicol eye drops, erythromycin eye ointment, etc. to prevent infection.

4: It should be noted that fresh milk, eye drops and eye ointments cannot be dripped at the same time. There must be an interval in between. Generally, the disease will heal within 1-3 days after the onset of the disease and generally will not cause permanent damage. However, do not be injured by ultraviolet rays multiple times or for a long time to avoid chronic blepharitis.

5: In addition to the above three points, you also need to pay attention to the following points. 1. Dropping boiled and cooled human milk or fresh milk into the eyes can relieve pain and protect the eyes. Apply a cold wet towel to your eyes and change it every 20 minutes.

6: 2. You should close your eyes and rest to reduce light stimulation and friction of eye rotation. Wearing sunglasses can block light and make your eyes feel comfortable.

7: 3. Add 3-5 drops of 0.1% epinephrine eye drops to 10 ml of 0.25% chloramphenicol eye drops, and apply antibiotics or sulfonamide ointment to prevent infection and reduce inflammation.

2. People who generally engage in welding work

Everyone knows that they need to protect their eyes, but few people know to wear a mask. Because electric welding machines will produce welding fume pollution during operation. These fumes are mainly produced when the welding rod comes into contact with the metal object being welded. If such substances are inhaled for a long time, it may cause symptoms such as chest tightness, shortness of breath, coughing, dizziness, or in more serious cases, pneumoconiosis. Therefore, when using electric welding, you should not only wear goggles, but also a mask.
