How to fill tooth decay and the specific operation method of filling tooth

People may suffer from tooth decay because they do not pay attention to oral hygiene in daily life and do not develop good brushing habits. 1: Step 1: Use artificial substances to repair tooth defects. The substance used for repair is called filling material. Any tooth tissue defect caused by caries, wedge-shaped defects, trauma, etc. needs to be repaired to restore its appearance and function. 2: Step 2, cavity preparation The cavity is composed of cavity wall, cavity edge and cavity corner. The principles of cavity preparation are: ① remove all diseased tissue, otherwise it will cause secondary caries; ② protect the pulp and healthy tooth tissue; ③ establish a good retention shape and resistance shape to prevent the filling from breaking, falling off, and not fitting tightly, which may cause secondary caries.

3: Step 3, fill with isolation saliva, disinfect the cavity, prepare the filling material and fill it into the cavity, and carve the shape immediately. Be careful to remove the part that exceeds the occlusal surface to avoid iatrogenic occlusal trauma. There should be no overhang of fillings on the adjacent surfaces to avoid irritating the gums and causing inflammation.

4: Step 4. Selection of filling materials. Filling materials should be non-toxic, wear-resistant, have compressive strength, maintain volume after filling, fit tightly with the cavity, not corroded or dissolved by saliva, be easy to operate and have beautiful color. However, there is currently no material that fully meets the above-mentioned properties. We can only choose a more appropriate filling material based on the location of the tooth defect, the amount of force applied, and the aesthetic requirements.
