Why do orthodontic brackets always get knocked out?

Why do orthodontic brackets always get knocked out?

When correcting teeth, the teeth are raised and the brackets are sometimes easily pushed off. In fact, this is a normal phenomenon, because the position of the teeth opposite this tooth is relatively low, so you don't have to complain about this. Another thing to note is that when correcting teeth, the normal position of the tooth with the bracket can move with the whole mouth of teeth, so it is also affected by force, which will cause movement.

1. Prevention and correction

During the embryonic and postnatal development of the teeth and maxillofacial region, various congenital and acquired environmental factors will affect their development and cause tooth and jaw deformities. If various preventive measures are taken to prevent the occurrence of various deformities, it is called preventive treatment. For example, the mother should pay attention to nutrition during pregnancy and avoid excessive radiation exposure and medication. Early treatment of dental caries, early elimination of bad oral habits, and timely extraction of retained deciduous teeth and supernumerary teeth can prevent the occurrence of dental and maxillofacial deformities.

What should you pay attention to when correcting your teeth?

1: During the orthodontic process, the fixed appliance is bonded to the teeth with special materials. In the first two to five days of orthodontic treatment, the teeth may feel sore due to the force. After each follow-up visit, the patient may feel tightness and pain in the teeth, but it is very mild. However, severe pain is not normal.

2. Patients should also pay attention to oral hygiene and brush their teeth carefully and correctly every day. It is best to use a special orthodontic toothbrush. Food plaque on the surface of the teeth should also be removed after meals every day.

3. Do not eat foods that are too sticky. During the orthodontic process for teenagers, parents should pay special attention to urging their children to follow the doctor's instructions, such as regular check-ups, wire replacement, wearing rubber bands, etc. Otherwise, the orthodontic process will be prolonged and the ideal orthodontic effect will not be achieved. At the same time, you can't eat foods that are too sticky.

4. You can rinse your mouth with water or tea after meals. There are many abnormal pathogenic bacteria in the mouth. If the teeth are not brushed well and food remains between the teeth, bacteria will multiply and cause tooth decay or periodontal tissue inflammation, destroying the entire course of treatment. If it is inconvenient to brush your teeth after a meal, you can rinse your mouth with water or tea.

5. Because dental braces are bonded to teeth with adhesives, force is applied to the teeth through the correction device to achieve the desired tooth movement. Use a public toothbrush, move gently and slowly, and brush for 3 to 5 minutes each time. Therefore, orthodontic patients need to maintain good oral hygiene.

6. During the orthodontic correction process, in addition to following the doctor's instructions, you must also carefully care for the braces on your teeth. It is also necessary to avoid eating large pieces of food to prevent the accessories of the corrector from loosening due to improper diet, so that the entire correction process can be completed smoothly.

7. The most crucial factor in the effectiveness of correction is the degree of cooperation between the patient and the doctor. In other words, the patient should follow the doctor's advice, go for follow-up visits on time, and not be too anxious.

8. When wearing them for the first time or just using force, some people may feel a little tooth pain. Generally, this situation will disappear in 2 to 4 days. If there is no improvement for a long time, adjustments will be needed.
