Why do you have to urinate urgently but cannot urinate? Watch out for your prostate

Abnormal urination is very common in life. Some men often experience frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating. However, if you are unable to urinate due to urinary insufficiency, it is very uncomfortable. First of all, you need to understand the cause of the urgency and inability to urinate. It is recommended to see a doctor immediately.

1. What is the reason for urinary urgency and inability to urinate?

First: prostatitis. Prostatitis is the most common disease among adult men, accounting for about 1/3-1/2 of the outpatients in TCM andrology. Clinically, it is divided into acute prostatitis and chronic prostatitis.

Second: prostate hyperplasia. Prostate hyperplasia can cause urination difficulty. Due to the obstruction of the enlarged prostate, the patient has to use greater force to overcome resistance when urinating, making urination difficult.

Third: prostate stones. When prostate stones coexist with urethral stenosis and prostate hyperplasia, there may be difficulty urinating, weak urine stream, dribbling urine or frequent urination, that is, the urine cannot be urinated.

2. Bad habits lead to urinary incontinence

There are many reasons for overactive bladder in women. Many people know that pregnancy and childbirth are the causes, but this is only one of the reasons. More are caused by age and bad living habits, mainly including the following reasons:

First of all, age. As women age, especially after menopause, their estrogen levels decrease, and the muscles of the urethra and surrounding pelvic floor tissues atrophy and lose their supporting function, resulting in urinary incontinence.

The second is the fertility factor. This is related to the relaxation of pelvic floor support tissue and weakness of the pelvic floor during pregnancy and childbirth, as well as the destruction of the normal urethral and bladder anatomical structure. The damage will be further aggravated, especially after multiple pregnancies and childbirths.

Finally, it’s lifestyle habits. Overfilled bladders, smoking, constipation, and frequent physical activities that increase abdominal pressure can also easily lead to stress urinary incontinence in women.
