Chinese patent medicine for promoting qi, activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis

Traditional Chinese medicine is a relatively profound culture and also a widely spread medical method. Nowadays, many people have begun to regulate their bodies through traditional Chinese medicine. This is mainly because traditional Chinese medicine is more warming and nourishing, and its treatment process has fewer side effects for patients. In traditional Chinese medicine, there are many herbs that can promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. Next, I will introduce to you in detail the traditional Chinese medicine that can promote qi, activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis.

1. Dispel cold, activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis

That is, warm medicines are used in combination with blood-activating and blood-stasis-removing medicines to warm the meridians, dredge the collaterals, dispel cold and resolve blood stasis, dispel the stagnant evil of yin and cold, and relax the meridians, dredge blood circulation and resolve blood stasis. It means "warm up the cold" and "the blood flows smoothly when it is warm". Cold is a Yin evil that is most effective in contracting the meridians, stagnates Qi and blood and causes Qi and blood stasis.

Commonly used medicines: those that warm the meridians and promote yang, such as cassia twig, aconite, cinnamon bark, evodia rutaecarpa, asarum, and roasted ginger; those that invigorate yang and strengthen fire, such as epimedium, Morinda officinalis, Eucommia ulmoides, fenugreek, and Curculigo orchioides; those that promote blood circulation and remove stasis, such as Chuanxiong, Angelica sinensis, safflower, frankincense, aconite, drynaria, tianxianteng, jifeizi, and chuanxiongduan, which are warm in nature.

2. Eliminate dampness, activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis

That is, use drugs that dry or penetrate dampness in combination with drugs that promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis to eliminate dampness and promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. Dampness is a yin evil that is sticky in nature and can easily block the flow of Qi, causing blockage of the blood vessels and blood stasis. Dampness can be divided into exogenous or endogenous, and in the pathological process it can be divided into cold or hot. It is closely related to the spleen's function of transportation and transformation and the kidney's function of warmth.

Commonly used medicines: those that clear heat and eliminate dampness, such as red Poria, Plantago, Lophatherum gracile, Stephania tetrandra, Alisma orientalis, etc.; those that strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness, such as Poria, Coix seed, Atractylodes, Atractylodes macrocephala, Adzuki bean, etc.; those that warm the kidney and eliminate dampness, such as Alpinia oxyphylla, cinnamon bark, cassia twig, Linderae scutellariae, Clematis, papaya, etc.; those that promote blood circulation, eliminate blood stasis, and eliminate water and dampness.

3. Regulating Qi, Activating Blood Circulation and Removing Stasis

That is, use drugs that regulate Qi to smooth the Qi flow. When Qi flows, blood flows, which activates blood and removes blood stasis. The problems caused by qi are nothing more than three aspects: qi stagnation, qi deficiency and qi reversal. Vascular diseases in the limbs are most commonly caused by qi stagnation and qi deficiency. Qi is the commander of blood and is the driving force of blood circulation. Therefore, if Qi is not flowing smoothly and is stagnant, blood flow will be astringent, resulting in blood stasis. Qi deficiency cannot promote blood circulation, and blood circulation will be slow, resulting in blood stasis.

Commonly used medicines: those that soothe the liver and promote qi flow, such as Bupleurum, Toosendan, Curcuma, etc., those that are cool in nature, such as Citrus aurantium, Citrus aurantium, etc.; and those that are neutral in nature, such as Cyperus rotundus and Citron, etc. Qi-invigorating herbs include astragalus, codonopsis, pseudostellaria, atractylodes, yam, and roasted licorice.

4. Clear away heat, activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis

That is, cold medicines are combined with blood-activating and blood-stasis-removing medicines to clear away heat evil, so as to activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis. It means "cool down the hot ones". "The pulse is the home of blood", so when pathogenic heat invades the meridians, it often affects the blood. If the heat is severe, it becomes poisonous, and the pathogenic heat burns the body fluid and damages the yin, causing internal heat.

Commonly used medicines: clearing heat and cooling blood such as buffalo horn, red peony root, peony bark, lithospermum officinale, raw rehmannia, Scrophularia ningpoensis, isatis indigotica, etc.; clearing heat and detoxifying such as honeysuckle, forsythia, Viola yedoensis, dandelion, Senecio lancea, wild smilax, etc.; nourishing yin and clearing heat such as raw rehmannia, Scrophularia ningpoensis, Radix Trichosanthis, white peony root, Ophiopogon japonicus, Adenophora ginseng, Rehmannia root bark, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, Phellodendron chinense, etc.
