What are the symptoms of brain tumors? Be careful of these 10 symptoms

The early symptoms of brain tumors are not obvious, and the patient may experience dizziness or blurred vision. If a brain tumor is diagnosed, the patient will experience symptoms such as headache, nausea, and hemiplegia. The only treatment for brain tumors is surgery, so everyone must understand the early symptoms of brain tumors so that they can be detected and treated early.

1. Headache

The nature of the headache is usually quite severe, often occurring in the early morning, and sometimes waking the patient up from sleep with pain. However, the headache will gradually ease or disappear after getting up and doing some light activity.

2. Vomiting

Due to the increase in intracranial pressure, the respiratory center in the medulla oblongata is stimulated, resulting in vomiting. Vomiting often occurs after a headache and is in the form of a jet.

3. Visual impairment

Patients with brain tumors will suffer from congestion and edema due to increased intracranial pressure, which may cause poor venous return of the eyeballs. It can also damage the retina and cause vision loss. 4. Mental disorder

Brain tumors located in the frontal lobe of the brain can destroy the mental activities of the frontal lobe, causing abnormal mental manifestations such as excitement, agitation, depression, repression, amnesia, and fabrication.

5. Unilateral limb paresthesia

The parietal lobe, located in the middle of the cerebral hemisphere, is responsible for sensation. Tumors in this area often lead to decreased or absent sensations of pain, temperature, vibration, and shape discrimination in one side of the limbs.

6. Phantom Smell

Tumors in the temporal lobe can cause olfactory hallucinations, that is, the smell of an odor that does not exist, such as burnt rice or burnt rubber.

7. Hemiplegia or staggering gait

If the brain tumor occurs in the cerebellum, it will cause symptoms such as headache and vomiting, as well as hemiplegia and staggering. 8. Tinnitus and deafness

This is often found when making a phone call, that is, one ear can hear but the other ear cannot. This manifestation is often a precursor to acoustic neuroma.

9. Gigantism

It is more common in pituitary tumors. The patient is characterized by rapid growth, acromegaly, large chin, large nose, enlarged lips and tongue, and abnormally large hands and feet.

10. Growth and development of children stops

Common in craniopharyngioma. The clinical manifestations are that a 15 or 16-year-old is only 5 or 6 years old in height, with underdeveloped sexual characteristics and a belly full of fat, making him look like a "premature obesity".
