Symptoms of trigeminal neuralgia, where does it hurt?

Trigeminal neuralgia is a common neurological disease. The most obvious manifestation of this disease is pain. There is a sensitive area on the patient's body, and even a slight touch will cause particularly obvious pain.

>01

Trigeminal neuralgia has a regional range. There is a sensitive area in the body where slight touch can cause pain. This area is called a trigger point or strike point. Its range is relatively limited, and most of them are concentrated around the nose, upper and lower lips, upper and lower gums, cheeks, eyebrows, etc.

>02

The patient's pain area is around the trigeminal neuralgia, usually occurring on one side, involving mostly one branch, with the most common being the combined pain of the second and third branches on one side. Sometimes it is accompanied by facial redness, increased skin temperature, conjunctival congestion, tearing, increased salivation, nasal mucosal congestion and runny nose, etc.

>03

There are more women and they are older, about 2 to 3 times that of men. The pain is very uncomfortable, with paroxysmal electric shock, knife-like, and tearing-like severe pains, which come on and off suddenly, usually without warning, and the intervals are completely normal. Each pain lasts from a few seconds to 1 to 2 minutes, with the intervals between attacks gradually shortening and the pain gradually becoming more severe.

>04

In daily life, there may be different degrees of stimulation, such as eating, coughing, washing face, talking, and even head movements may cause pain. Therefore, the patient is extremely frightened and very careful about his actions. These are all symptoms of trigeminal neuralgia.
