What are the characteristics of genital herpes?

What are the characteristics of genital herpes?

When genital herpes occurs, there will be some obvious characteristics, and it may also have other symptoms, such as blast cervicitis or herpetic proctitis, which will cause the patient to experience body pain or general discomfort.

1. Difficulty in diagnosis

Due to the atypical onset of genital herpes and the extremely extensive and complex locations of female lesions, the diagnosis of this disease is greatly more difficult.

2. Possible concurrency:

Herpetic cervicitis, herpetic proctitis, neonatal herpes infection and malformation and stillbirth. Women are more likely to develop complications than men, such as the spread of aseptic encephalitis and sacral radiculopathy; often combined with pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis, recurrent and difficult-to-cure vaginal Candida albicans and vaginal Gardnerella infections, etc., and long-term conditions such as cervical cancer, diabetes, and other tumors (combined with digestive tract diseases to cause gastric cancer, colon cancer, etc.).

3. Herpetic cervicitis:

It may be asymptomatic; 70%-90% of patients present with diffuse or localized cervical congestion and increased fragility, cervical erosion or necrotizing cervicitis, which may cause severe pelvic pain, cervical tenderness, and easy bleeding during examination.

4. General symptoms of genital herpes infection:

There may be no symptoms, or symptoms may include headache, body aches, fever, or general malaise.

5. The urethra is affected, causing urination disorders and burning pain during urination. Some patients say that they often feel a burning sensation in the urethra. This is what it means! If the condition develops seriously, urinary retention may occur.
