Why are toenails white? Three reasons for toenails white

If the toenails are just turning white, it means that you are suffering from anemia and need to replenish your blood. However, if the nails turn white and thicken at the same time, this is caused by onychomycosis and needs to be treated as soon as possible.

1

Reason 1 : It is onychomycosis. Because tinea pedis is mostly caused by infection of fungi or bacteria, the nails lose their luster, and the nail plate turns white over time. In severe cases, it will appear dark yellow. After that, the nails will become more and more fragile, and will fall off and separate from the nail bed in the later stage.

2

Reason 2 : First observe whether the toenails become thicker after turning white. If the toenails become thicker after turning white, it is very likely caused by onychomycosis. Onychomycosis is a fungal infection and a contagious disease. If you find that there is something wrong with your nails, seek treatment as soon as possible and do not let the condition worsen.

3

Reason three: General whitening of the nails indicates anemia, and partial whitening of the nails indicates zinc deficiency. Normal nails should slightly reveal the redness of the capillaries underneath and have a clear color. The nails themselves should be colorless or light beige and transparent. If the nails turn white, emergencies are often caused by blood loss or shock; chronic diseases are often caused by anemia, parasitic diseases, internal bleeding, and cor pulmonale.

Precautions

If left unchecked, other nails will often become infected, but as long as you pay attention and persist in the treatment, it can be cured. You can follow your doctor's advice on what specific measures should be taken for treatment. Pay attention to personal hygiene, wear breathable shoes if possible, do not eat irritating food, maintain a good mood, and dry your shoes in the sun every day.
