Why do you often have nosebleeds in winter? These are the three reasons

Some people often experience nosebleeds in winter, which is mostly caused by weather factors. Some people also experience this phenomenon because they suffer from nasal diseases.

Many people are prone to nosebleeds in winter, but they have no idea why they often have nosebleeds. Experts point out that when it comes to the cause of frequent nosebleeds, the first thing to consider is the winter climate.

1. In cold weather, we like to eat some hot food. When eating, the bursts of heat will accelerate the blood circulation in the nasal cavity. If the nasal mucosa is naturally thin or has been injured, nosebleeds are likely to occur.

2. The winter climate is abnormally dry, and the air circulation is poor, which leads to dryness and stuffiness indoors. In the cold and dry environment, we need more blood to flow through the nasal cavity to increase the temperature and humidity. The capillaries in the nasal mucosa are therefore prone to congestion, causing nosebleeds.

3. Winter is also the peak season for rhinitis and influenza. Rhinitis caused by allergies or fever caused by influenza can easily induce nosebleeds.

When the nasal cavity is too dry, the capillaries inside will rupture and cause bleeding. From a clinical perspective, 90% of nosebleeds are vascular bleeding caused by blood vessel rupture. In this regard, patients with nosebleeds do not need to be too nervous and need to go to a regular hospital for treatment.

After understanding the reasons for frequent nosebleeds, we should pay attention to it in our daily life. It is best to put a humidifier at home, which can effectively alleviate the overly dry environment.
