Subarachnoid hemorrhage sequelae

Subarachnoid hemorrhage sequelae

Subarachnoid hemorrhage can cause symptoms such as headache, vomiting, and impaired consciousness. Some patients may also show symptoms such as cerebral vasospasm or hyponatremia, so these symptoms must be detected and treated in a timely manner.

1. When subarachnoid hemorrhage occurs, headache, vomiting, impaired consciousness, back pain and leg pain may occur; some people may experience hemiplegia, visual impairment, retinal hemorrhage and papilledema. Possible complications include cerebral vasospasm, hyponatremia, rebleeding and hydrocephalus.

2. Cerebral angiography, angiography, magnetic resonance angiography and transcranial ultrasound examination can be performed, as well as routine blood tests, coagulation, liver function and immunological tests. If the cause of bleeding is found, hemostatic treatment should be given. The value of cerebral angiography is the most diagnostic.

3. When intracranial pressure increases, in order to reduce intracranial pressure and prevent brain herniation and arachnoid adhesion, 20% mannitol plus flumethasone intravenous drip can be used for treatment. When the patient has persistent headache, severe vomiting, and when medication is ineffective. At this time, you can take the method of releasing bloody cerebrospinal fluid and slowly release the cerebrospinal fluid. Hemostatic drugs can be used when bleeding occurs.

4. Subarachnoid hemorrhage can cause dizziness and headache in mild cases, and encephalopathy in severe cases, and even lead to memory loss in patients. The potential space between the arachnoid and pia mater material is called the subarachnoid space.

5. The cause may be intracranial aneurysm and arteriovenous malformation leading to subarachnoid hemorrhage. The most common triggers are exertion and emotional excitement. It may also occur during defecation, coughing, and sexual intercourse. Some car accidents and fights can also cause subarachnoid hemorrhage.
