How to massage the neck and cervical spine

How to massage the neck and cervical spine

Cervical pain is caused by cervical spondylosis. In recent years, cervical spondylosis has become an occupational disease for some office workers. If you sit for a long time, it will often cause cervical spondylosis attacks. When pain occurs, you can massage yourself, such as using your left and right hands to massage the back of the neck. There is a Fengchi point on the back of the neck. Regular massage of this point can relieve pain and has a good effect of activating blood circulation and unblocking meridians.

How to massage the neck and cervical spine

First, place your left and right hand behind your neck, then place your thumb on the outside of the neck on the same side, and the remaining four fingers on the opposite side of the neck muscles. Then, force your hands together, first lift up the neck muscles with your hands, then relax, and then slowly pinch down along the Fengchi acupoint all the way to the Dazhui acupoint. Repeat this process about 30 times.

Pressing Fengchi acupoint

It can dispel wind, cold and pain, and help relieve headache symptoms. Pressing the Jianjing point can dredge the meridians, dispel cold and relieve pain, and it has a good therapeutic effect on pain in the neck and shoulders. Pressing the Dazhui point can invigorate blood circulation, dredge meridians, dispel wind and cold, relieve dizziness and promote blood supply to the brain.

It is recommended to massage your neck every morning, during your free time at work, during lunch break, after get off work, and before going to bed. At the same time, you should take a break every one or two hours of work and move your neck slightly. When you sleep at night, do not use a pillow, but lie on your back, or put a small cushion under your neck to let your neck naturally lean back to relieve neck fatigue caused by work during the day. Correct your posture when reading or looking at the computer in time to prevent further injury to your neck.

After the massage, the cervical spondylosis has almost healed. Can I stop massaging it? It is recommended that you continue to massage if you have time, because occupational factors determine the problems of the cervical spine. If you do not pay attention to maintenance, cervical spondylosis will easily recur.

Cervical spondylosis is very common among people who work on computers for a long time, and it is highly prevalent and easy to occur. More importantly, there is no quick cure for cervical spondylosis, and it can easily come back if you are not careful. Therefore, it is recommended that friends who often maintain the same working posture should be careful and massage themselves during their free time at work or before going to bed to ensure that physical fatigue does not accumulate.
