Wounds that fester and do not heal have different severity levels

Once the wound becomes festered, it will become difficult to heal, or even not heal at all if the wound is too serious. But what causes wounds not to heal? What can be done to help solve this problem?

Wound suppuration actually occurs when our body is injured and bacteria take advantage of the opportunity to invade the human body, multiply inside the body, and release toxins. At this time, the body will mobilize the fighters in the blood - white blood cells, to fight against bacteria. Neutrophils in the blood undergo degeneration, pass through the blood vessel wall, reach the wound, engulf the invading bacteria, and decompose them. While white blood cells kill bacteria, they themselves will die soon. The white blood cells and dissolved tissues together form pus, which is the common phenomenon of wound suppuration. If these pus accumulate in the wound, it will affect the healing of the wound and may even cause the patient to suffer from long-term wound non-healing.

1. For some sores with mild suppurative symptoms and relatively clean wounds, there is generally no need to use medication. The wound can be rinsed with saline or covered with Vaseline gauze.

2. For wounds or wound surfaces with severe infection and suppuration: they can be rinsed with drug solutions as appropriate. If suppuration occurs repeatedly, the pus needs to be drained from the wound site in a targeted manner. If the wound surface is large, it needs to be cleaned and then re-sutured, and the dressing needs to be changed.

3. For deep wounds with heavy secretions: rinse with 3% hydrogen peroxide, then fill with gauze strips or gauze soaked in 4% gentamicin solution or 0.1% revnol solution. If the wound cannot heal for a long time, you can use Yu's wound healing formula to wet the wound.

4. Chronic ulcers or old granulation wounds: The effect of external application of cod liver oil ointment or muscle growth solution is better. If the wound cannot heal for a long time, consider debridement and skin flap transplantation.
