What to do if you have mild sclerosis of the lower limb arteries

Lower limb arteriosclerosis is also a type of arteriosclerosis. The symptoms of lower limb arteriosclerosis are mainly manifested in the legs. What should we do if we have mild sclerosis of the lower limb arteries? We must seek timely treatment to avoid worsening of the condition. Not only medication, but also proper exercise is important.

1. Diet therapy: ① Reduce fat intake: Eat less fried foods with high saturated fatty acids and foods containing high cholesterol, such as shrimp, liver, kidney and other internal organs, egg yolk, etc., to prevent arteriosclerosis.

2. Do not smoke and prevent passive smoking: Tobacco poisons cardiovascular endothelial cells, damages the function of the endothelial system, can cause myocardial hypertrophy and thickening, affect normal contraction and relaxation movements, and can cause a decrease in "good" blood lipids HDL.

3. Insist on moderate physical activity: The amount of physical activity should be determined according to the original physical condition. It should be done step by step and it is not advisable to force yourself to do strenuous exercise. It is best to insist on no less than 30 minutes of activity every day. It can be completed "all at once" or divided into 3 times, 10 minutes each time. Depending on individual conditions, you can do rope skipping, health exercises, Tai Chi, cycling, walking, trimming flowers and grass, mopping the floor, doing housework, etc.

4. Release repressed or nervous emotions: Chronic depression or persistent tension can stimulate the sympathetic nerves, which can easily lead to rapid heartbeat, vasoconstriction, increased blood pressure, and reduced blood flow.

5. Lower limb arteriosclerosis obliterans is arteriosclerosis occlusion caused by intimal hyperplasia of small arteries, with ischemia of the lower limbs as the main lesion. It can be typically manifested as intermittent claudication, pain after walking for a distance, and improvement after rest. Treatment options include vasodilation or blood circulation treatments such as alprostadil, and the best is vascular interventional dilation and stent placement. It is recommended to go to the hospital to get some alprostadil, and you can take some blood-activating drugs such as aspirin on your own.
