What should I do if I have rheumatism pain when it rains?

Many people seek coolness when the rainy season comes, but for some patients with rheumatic diseases, rain means joint pain and recurrence of the disease. When you have rheumatic pain due to rain, you can treat it by using hot compresses and Chinese medicine to help the body excrete the cold as much as possible.

Treatment

The goal of rheumatic disease treatment is to improve symptoms, change the condition, and inhibit progression.

The most widely used drugs for improving symptoms are non-steroidal drugs, such as indomethacin, ibuprofen, naproxen, and fenbid, which can achieve anti-inflammatory, detumescent, antipyretic, and analgesic effects within a short period of time after taking the medicine. Adrenal cortical hormones should be used early, especially when combined with lesions of important organs such as the heart, brain, lungs, and kidneys, to quickly relieve the condition. The dosage of hormones should be gradually reduced after the condition is relieved. Reducing the dosage too quickly will cause the condition to worsen again.

Preventive Care

Drugs that improve the condition include penicillamine, gold preparations, tripterygium wilfordii and immunosuppressants. They should be selected appropriately according to different diseases, different individuals and different conditions, which emphasizes the individualization of treatment.

Rheumatism is a multifactorial disease and is difficult to prevent. However, gouty arthritis is closely related to lifestyle habits and can be prevented. As long as you quit smoking and drinking, and eat less foods high in purine (such as seafood and animal offal), you can reduce the incidence of attacks. It needs to be emphasized that arthritis does not only refer to rheumatoid arthritis. Nowadays, people have a misunderstanding about rheumatism. When they talk about rheumatism, they mean rheumatoid arthritis, and when they talk about arthritis, they also mean rheumatoid arthritis. These are all wrong concepts. In fact, rheumatoid arthritis is now rare in our country, at least in big cities. The peak period of rheumatoid arthritis was in the 1950s. Nowadays, because there are many effective antibiotics, timely and early treatment of inducing diseases such as purulent tonsillitis has reduced the rheumatic fever and rheumatoid arthritis caused by them.
