Athlete's foot is troubling many people. It must be emphasized that there are different types of athlete's foot. Some will cause blisters, some will cause erosion, and some will cause scaly corners. Therefore, you must carefully observe and distinguish the type of foot you have. Nowadays, there are many medicines for treating athlete's foot. You must choose the medicine in a targeted manner based on your own situation to be effective. 1. Drugs with fungal killing effects Athlete's foot is caused by fungal infection, so if you want to treat athlete's foot, you need to choose some drugs that can kill fungi. Simply using antipruritic drugs cannot kill the fungi. Although it can relieve the itching feeling in a short period of time, it sometimes aggravates the symptoms of fungal infection, which is not worth the cost. However, if the symptoms of athlete's foot are more severe, anti-inflammatory drugs may be needed in combination with treatment. 2. Drugs that are easily absorbed and have strong penetration Athlete's foot is caused by fungal infection. These fungi exist not only on the surface of the skin, but also in the deep layers of the skin. When choosing treatment drugs, if the drugs can only work on the surface, then the fungi inside the skin cannot be killed, and athlete's foot cannot be truly cured. Therefore, you should choose some drugs that are easily absorbed and have strong penetration, so that they can penetrate deep into the skin, completely eliminate the fungi, and cure the disease. 3. Choose drugs that are dry, clean, and non-sticky to clothes and socks When using medicines, comrades hate the greasy feeling the most, and are even more worried that the medicine will stick to their clothes and socks, which will not only stain the clothes but also cause waste. 4. Soak your feet first to distinguish the type of athlete’s foot 1. Blister type The symptoms of athlete's foot are small blisters with thick and full walls, some of which can merge into large blisters. The blister fluid is transparent and there is no redness around them. To treat this type of athlete's foot, it is recommended to use 30 grams each of Sophora flavescens, Cnidium monnieri, Rhubarb, Polygonatum sibiricum, and alum, and 10 grams of licorice, boiled in water for 30 minutes, with the alum added last. Polygonatum sibiricum is specially used to treat tinea pedis. Using bitter ginseng and Cnidium monnieri together can enhance the bactericidal and antipruritic effects. 2. Thickening type Athlete's foot is manifested by thick and dry skin, keratinization and desquamation, itching, and easy cracking. For thickening type athlete's foot, you can add 30 grams each of Polygonatum sibiricum, Kochia scoparia, and alum (added later) into water and boil for 30 minutes.
