What is the massage method for lumbar disc herniation?

You must pay attention to the correct treatment of lumbar disc herniation, especially in life, you must pay attention to scientific and effective coping methods. Massage has a good effect on relieving the pain of lumbar disc herniation, but you also need to understand the massage techniques. The following article will introduce the specific steps to you.

1. The patient lies prone with knees straight, fat sockets facing upward, hands placed at sides of the body, and waist muscles relaxed as much as possible.

(l) Press and massage Huantiao, Chengfu, Yinmen, Weizhong and Chengshan points for about 1 minute on each point.

(2) Inference method. The doctor stands at one side of the patient, places his hands flat on both sides of the spine, and pushes along the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian from the first chest push to the lumbar sacral region; then pushes along one side of the buttocks, the posterior side of the lower limbs, and the outer side to the heel with both hands, and repeats 5-7 times. The technique should be deep, penetrating and powerful.

(3) Rolling and kneading method. The doctor stands at one side of the patient and uses his forearms to roll and knead the waist and back, from the upper back to the lumbar sacral region, and then from the waist to the upper back, going back and forth 5-7 times. Then he focuses on rolling and kneading the lumbar sacral region, and repeats the procedure until the affected area feels warm and the pain is relieved.

(4) Press and shake method. The patient grabbed the head of the bed with both hands. The assistant holds the patient's distal calf and applies downward traction for 1 minute. The doctor overlaps his hands and presses and shakes the painful point on the patient's waist 5-7 times. Figure 58. The intensity of the technique should be appropriate to the patient's tolerance.

2. Patient side-lying position

The affected limb is on top, with the hip and knee flexed, and the healthy limb straightened. In the oblique pulling method, the doctor stands on the patient's back with both elbows bent. One elbow is placed on the patient's front shoulder depression and the other elbow is placed on the back of the iliac wing. The two elbows are suddenly pulled obliquely in opposite directions front and back, often accompanied by a crisp sound. Then switch to the healthy side using the same method.

3. Patient supine position

(1) Press Taixi, Jiexi, Zusanli, Fengshi and Chongmen points on the affected side for about half a minute on each point.

(2) Leg-moving technique. The doctor supports the calf of the affected limb with one hand and holds the affected limb with the other hand, flexes the hip and knee, and presses and pushes with a little force to make the thigh of the affected limb as close to the abdominal wall as possible. Then use skillful force to pull the affected limb outward and upward, straightening the knee and slightly flexing the hip. During the leg stretching process, ask the patient to actively push his legs to increase the force of the stretching. Repeat this flexion and extension 5-7 times. The affected limb should be continuously raised each time to increase the range of flexion and extension, making it easier to remove adhesions around the nerve roots.

(3) Shaking method. Ask the patient to flex his knee and hip and hold the knee joint with both hands. The doctor supported the patient's back with one hand and the knee joint with the other hand, and asked the patient to rock back and forth.
