What to do about physiological anemia?

Physiological anemia is relatively common in clinical practice. It begins to develop in early childhood. Many infants and young children show symptoms of physiological anemia from birth. This is a normal physiological phenomenon. Physiological anemia mainly involves blood supplementation through care, diet and lifestyle.

1. Ensure sufficient heat energy intake. Only when there is sufficient energy can various nutrients, including iron, be fully absorbed and utilized. The diet should be nutritionally balanced, the food must be diversified, the diet should be wide, and you should not be a partial eclipse, otherwise you will cause anemia due to the lack of certain nutrients.

2. Eat enough animal food. Animal foods contain more iron and high-quality protein. When choosing food, we should not only look at its iron content, but also understand the absorption rate of iron in the food. Animal foods contain heme iron, whose absorption rate is much higher than that of non-heme iron in plant foods. The absorption rate of heme iron is around 20%, which is about 10 times the absorption rate of iron in plant foods. In addition, oxalic acid, phytic acid, phosphoric acid and a large amount of dietary fiber contained in plant foods can also affect the absorption of iron. Therefore, although the iron content in black fungus and spinach is high, it is not as easy to absorb as the iron in lean meat and liver.

3. Choose foods rich in vitamin C. For example, fresh vegetables and fruits contain vitamin C which promotes iron absorption and should be consumed every day. Animal offal such as liver, kidney, heart, etc. should be consumed every week. Often eat animal blood products such as pig blood, chicken blood, duck blood, etc. Diet should be regular and moderate, and overeating is strictly prohibited. Eat more iron-rich foods, such as pork liver, pig blood, lean meat, dairy products, beans, rice, apples, green leafy vegetables, etc. Drinking more tea can supplement folic acid and vitamin B12, which is beneficial for the treatment of anemia.
