What should I do if my ears itch?

What should I do if my ears itch?

Many people often experience itchy ears, which makes them feel upset and even unable to control it normally, especially itchy ears. Scratching may cause purulent infection, which is also considered very indecent behavior. The main thing to do when your ears are itchy is to pay more attention to cleaning and ear care. When taking a bath, make sure to clean out the water inside.

Itchy ears are not a serious illness, but they can be very annoying. When it is unbearable, people may do various inappropriate things, such as picking their ears with matchsticks or hairpins. This habit is not only indecent but also very harmful. In mild cases, it may dig the skin of the external auditory canal and cause bacterial infection, which is acute external otitis, causing severe pain and pus. In severe cases, it may puncture the eardrum and seriously affect hearing, with disastrous consequences. Therefore, if you have itchy ears, you should go to the hospital to see a doctor and take appropriate and effective treatment measures.

1. What causes itchy ears?

1. Too much earwax

Earwax is the secretion of the external auditory canal, commonly known as earwax, and generally does not need to be cleaned. However, excessive accumulation may cause blockage, which may stimulate the nerves in the external auditory canal and cause ear itching.

2. Allergic constitution

Patients with allergic constitution or ear pus are prone to external auditory canal eczema. At the beginning, the ear canal becomes red and blisters appear, and yellow fluid oozes out after scratching. During the rainy season, unclean ear digging can bring fungi into the ear canal, causing itching and exudation symptoms similar to tinea pedis.

3. Demodex

Demodex, commonly known as hair follicle mites or lipid mites, can parasitize in the hair follicles or sebaceous glands of the skin of humans and mammals. This mite can be found on the body surface of quite a number of healthy people, but the cheeks are the main "disaster area". It is well known that it is the cause of rosacea, and it is also responsible for itchy ears.

4. Diabetes

The elderly are more prone to diabetes, and itching all over the body is also related to it. Applying natural insulin to the external auditory canal has a significant anti-itching effect.
