What to do if your child is stung by a wasp

What to do if your child is stung by a wasp

Children are more naughty and mischievous. If parents are not careful, they don’t know what naughty things their children will do. Have you ever seen a child who poked a hornet's nest out of mischief and was stung by a hornet? If this happens, parents must treat the child's sting wound in a timely manner to avoid more serious consequences, and it is best to go to the hospital for examination.

Pick out the sting

If our baby is accidentally stung by a hornet, we must first determine whether the stinger is still in the stinging area. If so, we will use tweezers or a needle (disinfected with alcohol or fire) to pick out the stinger.

Clean with water

If our baby is accidentally stung by a hornet, the first step is to ensure the sting is removed, and then the second step is to wash the wound with clean water at home, warm water is best, to clean the wound.

Household vinegar

If our baby is accidentally stung by a wasp, as parents we can use the vinegar we eat at home to treat it in time. Household vinegar also has a neutralizing effect on formic acid and is alkaline.

Soap and water treatment

Or we can use soapy water for treatment. Soapy water is also alkaline and can neutralize the formic acid of the hornet. If our baby is accidentally stung by a hornet, we can use household soapy water for treatment.

Laundry Detergent Treatment

The properties of laundry detergent water and soapy water are the same. They both become alkaline when mixed in water. If our baby is accidentally stung by a wasp, we can use laundry detergent water for mild treatment.

Alkaline water treatment

When our children are accidentally stung by a wasp, we can use oral alkali (the main ingredient is sodium carbonate) for treatment. The principle is that the wasp bite is mainly formic acid, and oral alkali dissolves and becomes alkaline, neutralizing the acid and alkali.

Consult a doctor

If the above methods cannot cure the disease after we selectively use them, the editor recommends that we take our baby to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment in time to prevent it from getting worse.

Notice:

If a child is stung by a wasp, as a parent, do not rush and use reasonable methods to treat the child.
