What is the diagnosis of measles in children

Measles is a relatively common disease in children. When measles occurs, parents must pay attention to prevention and conditioning, and take more care of their children to avoid some problems that should not occur due to measles. Children will show certain symptoms when they have measles. In the early stages of the disease, it is like a cold. Children will have a moderate fever. As the disease progresses, the digestive system will also show certain symptoms.

Symptoms of measles:

Symptoms of measles:

Early symptoms are like those of a cold. Children have a moderate fever of 38℃-39℃ and cough, runny nose, and sneezing; conjunctivitis, eyelid edema, increased tears, photophobia, and an obvious horizontal line of congestion on the edge of the lower eyelid. Measles mucosal spots: 3 days after the fever, small grayish-white spots like fine sand can be seen on the buccal mucosa opposite the second molar in the child's mouth, surrounded by a red halo. This is the earliest and most reliable feature of measles. It can also be seen on the inner side of the lower lip and the gingival mucosa, and occasionally on the upper palate. It usually lasts for 16-18 hours, sometimes 1-2 days, and usually disappears within 1-2 days after the rash appears.

Symptoms of measles 2:

Digestive system symptoms: many babies will experience loss of appetite, lack of energy and other symptoms. Some babies may also have symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. A rash appears 1-2 days after high fever. The rash first appears behind the ears and hairline, then gradually spreads to the forehead, face, neck, trunk, limbs, and finally to the palms and soles. It usually takes 3-5 days for the rash to appear. The rash initially appears as small, light pink maculopapules, which then gradually increase in number and size and become bright red, then merge into dark red and fade when pressed.

Measles is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by the measles virus. It can occur in all seasons, but is more common in late winter and early spring. Infants under 6 months old are generally less likely to get sick because they have passive immunity acquired from their mothers. After having measles once, you will become automatically immune and will not get sick again. The secretions of the patient's oral, nasal and ocular mucosa contain pathogens, which can be transmitted to others through respiratory droplets 5 days before and after the onset of the rash. The symptoms are similar to those of a severe cold, with fever reaching 39°C, eye inflammation, red maculopapular rashes on the skin and grayish-white needle-like spots on the cheek mucosa. When the symptoms are severe, a hemorrhagic rash may be seen, accompanied by mucosal bleeding and pneumonia. When blood circulation fails, the rash may not show through or may even disappear, which can be life-threatening. After the rash came out, the body temperature gradually returned to normal and the rash gradually subsided, leaving light brown spots and bran-like desquamation, which all disappeared in 2 weeks. Measles live attenuated vaccine has been promoted for vaccination, and the incidence rate has been significantly reduced.

The above content has helped friends understand the symptoms of measles. Measles has caused extremely serious harm to many children and brought pain to the children. Therefore, parents should be vigilant about the occurrence of this disease. They must clearly understand the symptoms of measles and seek early treatment for children after they become ill.
