Is hemoptysis from tuberculosis serious?

Coughing up blood due to pulmonary tuberculosis is a more serious late-stage symptom, which can cause the patient's capillary dilation, chest pain, and hemangioma rupture. At this time, the patient needs to be hospitalized for treatment to control the disease. When patients with tuberculosis cough up blood, they can check it through X-rays, take medicine according to the doctor's advice, eat more foods that regulate the lungs, and adjust their mentality to deal with the symptoms of tuberculosis.

Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It can invade many organs, with the lungs being the most common victim, forming pulmonary tuberculosis. Patients who excrete bacteria are an important source of infection. Humans are mainly infected by inhaling bacteria-carrying droplets (dispersed when tuberculosis patients cough or sneeze). Tuberculosis bacteria that invade the respiratory tract are phagocytosed by alveolar macrophages.

Common symptoms of tuberculosis are:

1. Cough and expectoration;

2. Hemoptysis: About 1/3 to 1/2 of the patients experience hemoptysis. The amount of hemoptysis varies. Most patients experience small amounts of hemoptysis, while a few experience large amounts of hemoptysis. Generally, blood in sputum is mainly caused by dilation of capillaries in inflammatory lesions; moderate or more hemoptysis is related to small blood vessel damage or rupture of hemangioma from the cavity.

3. Chest pain: When tuberculosis involves the pleura, chest pain may occur. It is pleural chest pain, which is generally not severe and is a stabbing pain. It may be aggravated by respiratory movement and coughing.

4. Dyspnea. Diagnosis depends on chest X-ray. Sputum tuberculosis Mycobacterium examination is the main method for diagnosis.

Coughing up blood is one of the symptoms of tuberculosis. Whether the amount is small or large varies from person to person, so patients do not need to worry too much. But it is best to go to the hospital for a detailed examination.

Warm reminder: patients with pulmonary tuberculosis need to follow regular anti-tuberculosis treatment and adhere to the principles of early, regular, full-course, appropriate and combined treatment. They must not stop taking the medicine or change the treatment plan on their own, otherwise it will easily lead to the spread of tuberculosis bacteria.

Wealth is silver, health is gold. If you can have a healthy life, then it is worth spending any amount of money, don’t you think?
