What ointment should I use for sebaceous cysts

Sebaceous cyst, commonly known as "sebaceous tumor", refers to the formation of cysts due to accumulation of sebaceous glands in the gland after the sebaceous gland duct is blocked. This is the most common type of benign skin tumor. Many people have experienced cysts, especially young people who are in their period of rapid growth and development. For sebaceous cysts, the use of some drug treatment can only be a conservative method. For example, some Chinese medicine can be used to reduce swelling and relieve pain. Of course, the best method is surgical treatment and laser treatment.

What ointment should I use for sebaceous cysts

1. Apply Sanhuang lotion to the affected areas, or add 2 grams of chloramphenicol to every 100 ml of Sanhuang lotion for better therapeutic effect.

2. 30 grams of honeysuckle, 30 grams of Sophora flavescens, 20 grams of Schizonepeta tenuifolia, 30 grams of wild chrysanthemum, 15 grams of alum, and 20 grams of Patchouli, decocted in water until 2000 ml, and used to wash the affected area.

3. Take 1 fresh pig bile, add the bile to half a basin of warm water, and use it to clean the affected area.

Laser surgery

1. For smaller skin cysts, which are generally less than 1 cm in size, after local injection of lidocaine anesthetic, use ND:YAG to make a 0.3 mm small hole at the weakest part of the cyst skin surface, squeeze the cyst, and expel the dissolved materials. Use mosquito forceps (one curved and one straight) to enter the cyst wall within the intracavitary incision, and use another small curved hemostatic forceps to gradually and bluntly peel off the outside of the cyst wall. After peeling, it is completely removed through the incision. If it is inconvenient to separate the cyst wall after most of it has been peeled off, part of the cyst wall can be removed first, and then the unfinished part can be bluntly peeled off. After the operation, apply pressure with sterile gauze and bandage appropriately.

2. Regardless of the type, large cysts located subcutaneously are treated with local injection of lidocaine anesthetic (1% to 2%) without adrenaline, and surgical excision is performed under a sterile towel. An incision that is the same as the skin grain is chosen. For heavier protrusions, a fusiform incision is made. For facial cysts, a micro incision is used. The incision is 0.5 cm long with a scalpel. After the contents are removed, the cyst wall is separated and completely removed. Fusiform resection, use CO2 laser (power 15W) or ND:YAG laser knife (power 20W) to completely separate along the cyst wall and then suture the incision. Note that after micro-incision removal of the cyst, use multiple layers of gauze for pressure dressing to avoid leaving dead space. The main advantage of this small incision is that it is facial, so it has practical significance for beauty. Clinical practical surgical observation shows that patients recover very well after undergoing micro-incision resection. When the cyst is removed, if blunt separation is difficult, an ND:YAG quartz laser knife (power 10W) can be used for separation, which is relatively clean and neat with minimal bleeding. Small incisions less than 0.5 cm do not need to be sutured, but can be closed with one stitch.

3. Postoperative treatment

Anti-inflammatory drugs can be taken for 1 week after surgery. For oral administration of vitamin C, b1, b2, etc., the dosage can be increased appropriately. The patient will recover within 7 to 10 days after the operation.

Check the wound dressing after surgery and perform local treatment if any signs of infection are found.
