What's wrong with corticosteroid face?

Speaking of hormone face, it is quite scary. It is mainly because the misuse of some hormones leads to some acne on the face, causing symptoms such as redness and swelling of the face, which is particularly harmful to the health of the skin. When using some hormones, if they are used improperly, it may cause rapid contraction of blood vessels. At this time, blood circulation will become obstructed. Although the face feels pale, this is not a normal white. If corticosteroids are used for a long time, it will be particularly harmful to the health of the facial skin.

What's wrong with corticosteroid face?

Corticosteroids can cause blood vessels to constrict rapidly, preventing blood from circulating, and making the face look pale. For example, if you are frightened, your face turns pale. This is the same principle. At the same time, cell activity decreases rapidly, and cellular immunity and sebum secretion are also suppressed. Only glucocorticoids can have the effect of immediate whitening, immediate beauty and immediate tenderness. This is also the reason why many unscrupulous merchants add hormones!

Many friends want to know whether they have been affected. After all, the market has been flooded with hormonal skin care products in the past few years. But first we need to understand the difference between allergies, dermatitis and hormone face.

Corticosteroid facial hazards

Generally speaking, allergic dermatitis will heal in two to three days and return to its original skin condition. But if you notice the following symptoms, you may already have a hormone face.

1. The facial skin experiences varying degrees of atrophy, thinning, shiny, diffuse flushing or skin erythema, or capillary dilation, local swelling, dryness and desquamation, or acne-like rash or rosacea dermatitis or skin atrophic wrinkles or folliculitis pustules.

2. Local itching, burning pain, tightness, distension or dryness. The above symptoms are aggravated by heat (such as sun exposure, hot bath, hot steam fumigation) and alleviated by cold.

3. Symptoms worsen after discontinuation of corticosteroids, with obvious symptoms of hormone dependence, i.e., the condition improves rapidly after topical application of corticosteroids. Once the medication is stopped, a more severe hormone rebound dermatitis than before may occur in 1-2 days or 3-5 days, and may even induce bacterial or fungal infections.
