The skin is the largest organ in the human body, covering every part of the body. Although it is soft, it protects our body. Therefore, the skin is also the organ most susceptible to bacterial infection. Once infected, inflammation, boils, pustules, etc. will appear on the skin. After infection, many people will habitually squeeze the infected area, which will only make the infection further expand. Therefore, oral or injected antibiotics should be taken under the guidance of a doctor. Here are some types of bacterial skin infections. Bacterial skin diseases can occur on the skin all over the body, most commonly in exposed areas such as the head, face, neck, and hands. If redness, swelling, pain, or pus appears in these areas, a bacterial skin infection may have occurred. Bacterial skin infections should not be taken lightly, as they can cause serious harm to people's health. Bacterial skin diseases can be classified in the following ways: (1) According to the bacterial species, it can be divided into coccal and bacillary skin diseases. Coccal infection of the skin is caused by pyogenic cocci, referred to as pyoderma, common Impetigo, furuncle, folliculitis, meningococcal rash, scarlet fever, sepsis, toxic shock syndrome, etc. The skin diseases caused by bacilli mainly include cutaneous tuberculosis and leprosy, and others include typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever, anthrax, erysipelas, plague, etc. (2) According to the course of the disease, it can be divided into acute and chronic. Most bacterial, especially coccal, skin diseases are acute and have a short course. Only a few, such as skin tuberculosis and leprosy, are chronic processes. (3) According to the pathogenesis, it can be divided into direct pathogenicity, indirect pathogenicity, or both. Direct pathogens such as folliculitis, furuncle, impetigo and some tuberculous rashes are lesions directly caused by bacteria at the site of invasion; indirect pathogens such as scarlet fever, toxic shock syndrome and most tuberculous rashes are mainly caused by allergic reactions (allergic to bacterial products) or poisoning reactions (damage caused by bacterial toxins). However, clinical situations are complex and the disease is changeable. Direct or indirect causes of disease are not absolute and should be analyzed based on specific circumstances. |
