What happens if conjunctivitis becomes severe?

Conjunctivitis is a very common disease in daily life. It can cause great harm to the patient's eyes, and if the condition is serious it will directly endanger eye health. The main causes of the disease include infection factors, irritation factors and drug stimulation. Therefore, medical treatment should be sought in time, and worsening of the condition should be avoided. For the sake of their own eye health, patients need to keep their eyes clean at all times.

1. Conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis is a common and frequently occurring disease. It is often bilateral and sometimes very stubborn and difficult to cure. The main symptoms of conjunctivitis are ocular discharge and conjunctival hyperemia. The patients perceive mild symptoms, mainly itching, burning, foreign body sensation, dryness, heavy eyelids, visual fatigue, etc. The symptoms are usually more obvious at night or when working at close range, but some patients do not feel any discomfort.

2. Pathogenic factors of conjunctivitis

Acute conjunctivitis becomes chronic if it is not treated or is not treated thoroughly.

Treatment of conjunctivitis should focus on removing the cause, treating the symptoms, and treating the bacterial species. Conjunctivitis is caused by bacteria, foreign matter or acids and alkalis. In addition to bloodshot eyes, it can also cause tears and eye mucus. Generally, acute conjunctivitis can be cured quickly by using antibiotic eye drops. However, if stimulated by chemical drugs, conjunctivitis is likely to occur. Although the symptoms are relatively mild, it is not easy to cure.

Acute conjunctivitis is mainly caused by bacteria or filterable viruses, and symptoms such as sudden tearing and increased eye mucus appear. As long as eye drops containing antibiotics are used, it will heal quickly without any sequelae. In addition to bacterial infection, conjunctivitis is also caused by mechanical stimulation, chemical stimulation such as drugs, etc. Compared with acute conjunctivitis, the symptoms are milder, but it is not easy to cure. Therefore, in addition to drug treatment, adequate sleep and balanced nutrition are important fundamental measures. In addition, use your own washbasin and towel to avoid infecting others.
