During this process, the part of the fetus that emerges first (that is, the part of the fetus's body that emerges first during delivery, normally the fetus's head emerges first) cannot come into close contact with the lower segment of the uterus and the cervix, resulting in a decrease in reflex uterine contractions and causing the expectant mother to experience an overdue pregnancy.

The longer the due date is, the more severe the aging of the placenta will be, and the more serious the main function of the placenta will decline.
