Early symptoms of rib tumors

Early symptoms of rib tumors

Chondroma is quite common in daily life. Generally speaking, it is a benign tumor that often occurs in the cartilage and rarely occurs under the periosteum. The most common symptom is pain, which is the most obvious symptom of bone tumor in the early stage. The pain will be intermittent. As the disease progresses, the pain will gradually become more severe. In addition, it will lead to the formation of lumps, which will produce relatively fixed soft tissue lumps.

Early symptoms of rib tumors 1. Pain is the main symptom of bone tumors in the early stage. It is mild and intermittent at the beginning. As the disease progresses, the pain may gradually worsen and develop into persistent pain. Most patients experience increased pain at night, which affects their sleep. The pain may radiate to distant places. 2. Swelling or lumps located under the periosteum or superficially appear earlier in tumors, and bone expansion and deformation can be felt. If the tumor penetrates beyond the bone, it may produce a fixed soft tissue mass with a smooth or uneven surface. 3. Functional impairment In the later stages of bone tumors, the function of the affected area will be impaired due to pain and swelling, which may be accompanied by muscle atrophy in the corresponding area.

4. Compression symptoms Tumors that grow into the cranial cavity and nasal cavity can compress the brain and nasal tissues, resulting in symptoms of cranial compression and difficulty breathing; pelvic tumors can compress the rectum and bladder, causing difficulty in defecation and urination; spinal tumors can compress the spinal cord and cause paralysis. 5. Deformities are caused by tumors affecting the development and firmness of limb bones, and are more obvious in the lower limbs. 6. Pathological fractures: Even slight external force at the tumor site can easily cause fractures, and the fracture site will be swollen and painful severely. Pathological fractures of the spine are often accompanied by paraplegia.

7. Systemic symptoms In the later stages of bone tumors, due to tumor consumption, toxic stimulation and painful torture, a series of systemic symptoms may appear, such as insomnia, irritability, loss of appetite, mental depression, pale complexion, progressive weight loss, anemia, cachexia, etc.
