Three physiological strictures of the ureter

Everyone has ureters in their bodies. Ureters help us excrete urine. Due to ureteral stenosis, urination can be very difficult. Generally, physiological ureteral stenosis can be divided into different stages. Stones caused by ureters are more harmful. Most of the formation of stones is due to ureteral stenosis, which leads to urine retention. When urine cannot be excreted, sediments gradually appear and form stones.

The ureter has three physiological narrow sections:

The first narrowing is at the transition between the renal pelvis and ureter (the beginning of the ureter); the second narrowing is at the point where it crosses the iliac artery and enters the small pelvis; the third narrowing is at the point where it penetrates the bladder wall. If stones appear in the body, they can easily get stuck in the three physiological narrow sections of the ureter, causing renal colic, which is unbearable for many patients. What effects does ureteral stenosis have on the body?

Ureteral stones are very dangerous:

Depending on the height, the total length of the ureter in an adult is about 22 to 30 cm. Generally speaking, stones often stay within 5 cm of the lower ureter. Partial obstruction by stones can cause dilation of the renal pelvis and ureter proximal to the stone. If it can be expelled in a short time, it will not cause any damage. If it stays too long, the ureteral lumen will gradually expand, elongate, and twist, and the wall of the tube will become thinner. Late-stage lesions will gradually affect the kidneys, causing hydronephrosis of the renal pelvis and calyceum. If the duration is too long, it will cause irreversible renal damage, just like complete obstruction.

The above is the doctor’s explanation. We all know that the occurrence of this disease will bring many lesions to the patient. For this reason, we must attach great importance to the existence of this disease in life, treat it in time when symptoms of the disease appear, and reduce the occurrence of lesions of the disease.
