How to treat waist fire?

In traditional Chinese medicine, there are many diseases whose names seem very unfamiliar to people, such as the disease called "Yellow-Waist Fire Dan" that we are going to talk about today. In fact, this is an acute skin disease. The main symptom in the early stage is erythema, followed by patches of herpes and blisters, and finally problems such as rupture and erosion. Next, let's popularize the relevant knowledge and see what methods can be used to treat waist fire pills?

Syndrome differentiation and treatment

1. Key points of syndrome differentiation

The disease often occurs on one side, usually not exceeding the midline of the body, and is mostly acute. Initially, erythema can be seen on the affected skin, followed by the appearance of groups of papulovesicles ranging in size from millet to mung bean, which quickly turn into blisters, which are like beads, gathered in one or several places, arranged in bands. The skin between the blisters is normal, the blister walls are tight and shiny, the blister fluid is transparent at first, and becomes turbid after 5 to 6 days, and some of them rupture, erode, dry and form scabs.

2. Treatment Principles

Treatment should be based on syndrome differentiation. The blisters of leukoplakia should not be pricked. If they are large blisters, the blister fluid can be extracted with a sterilized syringe, but the blister wall should not be removed to prevent secondary infection.

III. Classification of Syndrome and Treatment

1. Poisonous heat

Main symptoms: The skin of the affected area is red, and papulovesicles or blisters with tense blister walls can be seen clustered in groups and distributed in a band-like manner. Accompanied by systemic symptoms such as dry throat, bitter mouth, constipation and red urine. The tongue is red and the coating is yellow.

Treatment method: Clear away heat and purge fire, detoxify and relieve pain.

Representative prescription: Longdan Xiegan Decoction with modifications.

Commonly used Chinese medicines: Gentiana, Gardenia, Scutellaria, Bupleurum, Rehmannia, Plantago, Alisma, Akebia, Licorice, and Angelica.

2. Damp-heat syndrome

Main symptoms: The skin of the affected area is pale red, the blisters are densely packed together, burst and ooze water, and the blister fluid is turbid. Accompanied by systemic symptoms such as poor appetite and abdominal distension. The tongue is pale with thick and greasy coating.

Treatment method: Strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness, clear away heat and detoxify.

Prescription: Chushi Weiling Decoction with modifications.

Commonly used Chinese medicines: Atractylodes, Magnolia officinalis, Tangerine peel, Poria, Alisma orientalis, Red Poria, Atractylodes macrocephala, Talcum, Saposhnikovia divaricata, Gardenia jasminoides, Akebia, cinnamon, and licorice.

Other treatments

1. Acupuncture

In case of severe heat and toxicity: use Waiguan, Ququan, Taichong, Xuehai, Xiaxi and Ashi points. If you feel upset, add Ximen and Qimen; if you have constipation, add Zhigou. Ashi acupoints are treated with pricking and cupping, preferably with a small amount of bleeding; Taichong acupoints are punctured; other acupoints are punctured directly. All the above-mentioned acupoints are treated with the drainage method.

Damp-heat accumulation: take Zusanli, Yinlingquan, Pishu, Zhongwan and Ashi points. Directly puncture Yinlingquan and Zhongwan points using the draining method; directly puncture Zusanli and Pishu points using the tonifying method, and retain the needles for 20 minutes. Local circumferential needling is performed on the Ashi point. For those with loose stools, add acupuncture to the central point to regulate the stomach and intestines.

2. Moxibustion therapy

(1) Acupoint selection: local skin lesions;

(2) Procedure: Use moxa sticks to warm the local area, twice a day in the early stage of herpes, and once a day after it is absorbed.

3.2. External treatment

Initially use Yulu ointment for external application, and after the blisters break, you can use Qingdai powder ointment. Regardless of the early or late stages, you can mix berberine paste with 30% realgar powder and apply it externally. If the blisters do not break, you can also use a three-edged needle to prick them to relieve the swelling and pain.
