What are the reasons why men are afraid of cold?

Many women are afraid of the cold, but some men are also afraid of the cold. There are many reasons why men are afraid of cold, such as low blood pressure, cold sensitivity, iron deficiency, insufficient thyroid hormone secretion, etc. These factors can cause men to be afraid of cold. If it is caused by these reasons, symptomatic treatment is recommended. It is usually recommended that men eat more foods such as mutton, radish, and eggs, and also strengthen their physical exercise.

Men are afraid of cold reasons:

1. Coldness. More common in menopausal women. The reason is that the drop in estrogen levels in the body leads to unstable neurovascular function. Eventually, the patient will feel cold in the waist, back, lower abdomen, hands, feet, or entire body due to poor systemic or local blood circulation. The most important thing for patients is to do cold-resistant exercises and adjust their diet. Do more outdoor activities, such as walking, dancing, playing badminton, etc.; consciously eat more warming foods, such as beef, mutton, dog meat, dried shrimp, walnuts, peppers, etc.

2. Iron deficiency. Scientists point out that if people often feel cold, it may be caused by insufficient iron in the body. Physiologists from the U.S. Department of Agriculture conducted a cold tolerance test on 50 women wearing swimsuits and found that most of the women who were most afraid of cold had insufficient iron in their bodies. Once they were given iron supplements, their symptoms improved significantly. Since iron is involved in the synthesis of iron-containing hemoglobin in the human body, which can increase the blood's oxygen-carrying capacity, people with iron deficiency will have reduced oxygen supply to peripheral tissues. Lack of oxygen will cause disorders in the energy metabolism of tissues, and they will naturally feel cold due to insufficient heat production. Therefore, we should pay attention to supplementing iron-rich foods, such as lean meat, fish, animal liver, egg yolk, beans, celery, shiitake mushrooms, black fungus, etc.

3. Insufficient thyroid hormone secretion. Thyroxine is an endocrine hormone that participates in the body's metabolism and accelerates the burning of sugar, protein and fat to release energy. At the same time, it also increases the heart rate, blood pressure, blood circulation in peripheral organs such as the skin, and increases calories. Therefore, when the secretion of thyroid hormone is insufficient, heat production will decrease, which is why people are afraid of cold. Iodine is involved in the synthesis of thyroid hormone in the body. Eating more iodine-rich foods such as kelp, fish and shrimp can improve the ability to resist cold.

4. Low blood pressure. It can easily cause poor peripheral blood circulation in patients, insufficient blood supply to hands, feet and other parts, and tissues cannot obtain the oxygen and energy substances required for energy metabolism, so it is easy for people to feel cold frequently and of course frostbite is also prone to occur. In addition to taking some appropriate medications, you should also pay attention to keeping warm and exercising.

There are many reasons for being afraid of cold: people with iron deficiency have less hemoglobin, which affects the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood, leading to impaired tissue energy metabolism, and people will feel abnormally cold due to insufficient heat generated; people with low blood pressure have insufficient peripheral blood circulation, and human tissues also cannot get enough oxygen and energy, which will also cause fear of cold;

In addition, when the body's thyroid hormone secretion is insufficient, the blood circulation in the skin and other parts slows down and the heat production is insufficient, which will make the reaction to cold more intense; since various nutrients cannot be fully oxidized to produce heat, it is an important reason for being afraid of cold, so pay attention to supplementing iron-rich foods, such as lean meat, fish, animal liver, poultry, egg yolks, beans, celery, spinach, mushrooms, black fungus, etc. If you are afraid of cold, you should adjust your diet and increase physical exercise. You should eat more iron-rich foods in your diet. Eat more fresh vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin C to promote the body's absorption of iron and improve the body's ability to resist cold. At the same time, we should strengthen physical exercise.
