Symptoms of hysterical disorders

Hysterical mental disorders are relatively common in life and are caused by many factors, including psychological factors as well as social and cultural factors. Patients often show a variety of symptoms in clinical practice, often feel a sense of separation between body and mind, and have perceptual disorders. Of course, some physiological changes will also occur. Generally, the disease occurs under certain mental stimulation, and childish actions often occur.

Clinical manifestations The clinical manifestations of hysteria are varied. There may be symptoms of movement, sensory and other disorders similar to those of nervous system diseases, symptoms of various visceral diseases similar to those of various diseases, and short-term mental symptoms (abnormal psychological symptoms). It can be said that the symptoms of hysteria can imitate the symptoms of any disease in various clinical departments, so it is very easy to misdiagnose. There have been many cases where the initial diagnosis was hysteria but was in fact a physical illness, thus delaying the learning of treatment. Therefore, it is quite difficult to make a correct diagnosis of hysteria in clinical practice. Especially for those who lack clinical experience, they should not make a diagnosis of hysteria lightly.

However, the first attack of hysteria is mostly caused by certain mental stimulation. Later encounters with similar stimulation or when the patient recalls this stimulation can also induce recurrence of hysteria. In addition, the various manifestations of hysteria, whether sensory disorders, movement disorders, visceral lesions, etc., are often variable in clinical symptoms, and the degree and scope of the lesions can be easily changed through suggestion. Moreover, these lesions often do not conform to the anatomical and physiological characteristics of humans or the inherent laws of the disease. These are very helpful for correctly judging hysteria.

The mental symptoms of hysteria can be varied, but their symptoms are characterized by venting and performance, which makes a deep impression on people. Some people may also have many childish actions and behaviors, or even run away from home and wander around.

Disease care

During nursing, psychological suggestion should be strengthened, and supportive psychological suggestion therapy should be adopted to mobilize the patient's enthusiasm, stimulate his passion for life, and strengthen the patient's confidence in overcoming the disease. Give more care, sympathy and comfort, provide patients with necessary help in life, provide more detailed ideological guidance, and supplement with enthusiastic care.

Guide patients at any time and eliminate negative emotions. The hysterical personality is characterized by rich emotions, exaggerated performance, fantasy, impatience, willfulness, and being easily influenced by the words, actions and attitudes of others. When the disease occurs, if the relatives' words, behaviors and attitudes are inappropriate, new negative suggestion factors will be formed, causing the symptoms to worsen and making treatment difficult.

Therefore, relatives are required to remain calm while the patient is taking the medicine, avoid excessive attention and enthusiasm, avoid panic, and treat the occurrence of the disease correctly. To improve the patient's unhappy mood, relatives can consciously divert the patient's attention to things of interest or let the patient temporarily leave the current environment. Noticing these problems may itself improve a person's symptoms and can also greatly benefit drug treatment.
