How to diagnose cerebral palsy in newborns

Cerebral palsy is a huge blow to children, parents and the entire family, and it also places a heavy burden on families and society. Therefore, timely prevention and timely treatment of cerebral palsy patients are very necessary. This is also a guarantee to promote the treatment effect of children. In order to determine whether a newborn has cerebral palsy, it is necessary to diagnose it in time and go to the hospital for timely examination. Once confirmed, it must be treated in time.

Diagnosis of cerebral palsy in infants

1. Motor development delay

Some children's motor development lags slightly behind normal children of the same age, especially premature babies. However, it is not accompanied by abnormal muscle tone and postural reflexes, abnormal movement patterns, or other abnormal reflexes of the nervous system. The symptoms of delayed motor development may disappear in a short period of time as the child grows older and focuses on sports training.

2. Congenital muscle relaxation

The children have obvious hypotonia, muscle weakness, and low or absent deep tendon reflexes immediately after birth. Usually prone to respiratory tract infections. This disease is sometimes misdiagnosed as hypotonic cerebral palsy, but tendon reflexes can usually be elicited in the latter.

3. Low intelligence

This disease often has delayed motor development, uncoordinated movements, abnormal primitive reflexes, vojta postural reflexes, righting reactions and balance reactions. It is easily misdiagnosed as cerebral palsy in early infancy, but its symptoms of intellectual disability are more prominent, muscle tone is basically normal, and there are no posture abnormalities.

Treatment of cerebral palsy in infants

Cerebral palsy is not an incurable disease. With the continuous development and innovation of modern medical technology, cerebral palsy can be cured. Now stem cell transplantation therapy has brought hope to many cerebral palsy patients. Compared with drug therapy, stem cell transplantation therapy has fewer side effects. From a scientific point of view, stem cells are easily absorbed by brain cells. It is the same principle as the fact that medication has poor effects on patients with bronchitis, while nebulization has better effects.

Drug therapy is taken orally or by injection, and the drug often causes loss of ingredients and delays in the process of reaching its destination. All stem cell transplantation treatments are more effective than other treatments from a scientific point of view. Of course, stem cell transplantation treatments still need to be consolidated through future training, so that we can take a two-pronged approach and more effectively "fight"
