Six signs of cerebral palsy in babies

Six signs of cerebral palsy in babies

If an infant has cerebral palsy, it will have a great impact on the child. Cerebral palsy will manifest itself in a variety of symptoms, which will cause the child to have abnormal behavior. As a parent, you should observe these behaviors in time. Once there are multiple abnormal behaviors, you should go to the hospital for examination in time. For example, the child often cannot stand normally, and children with cerebral palsy often scream when you pat the baby, etc.

Six signs of cerebral palsy in babies

If after observation, the baby has the following abnormal behaviors, parents should be alert to whether the baby has cerebral palsy

: 1. Use your hands to tease a baby who is lying on his back. Normally, the baby can raise his hands to touch the hands in front of him and can still lie flat. If the baby grabs your hands and holds them tightly, or even hangs his upper body, you should suspect whether he has cerebral palsy.

2. Babies with cerebral palsy cannot support their upper body with their arms when lying on their stomach, but normal babies can.

3. Hold one side of the knee of the supine child with three hands. A normal child will not use the other leg to kick, but a baby with cerebral palsy will.

4. Hold the baby with both hands and put his feet on the ground. Children with cerebral palsy cannot stand normally.

5. If you hit the baby's side, a normal child will not be frightened, but a baby with cerebral palsy will raise his limbs, scream, etc.

6. Push a sitting baby with your hands. Children with cerebral palsy cannot maintain a sitting position and tend to lean forward, lower their heads, and swing their arms. Normal children sit more stably. Hold one of the baby's legs with your hand and lift him upside down. Children with cerebral palsy cannot bend the other leg to resist, but normal babies can. Children with cerebral palsy often bend one leg and one arm when lying on their backs, while normal children usually relax and stretch out their limbs.

In short, now many families are looking forward to a baby, and cute children are like angels, bringing laughter and joy to the family. When parents are taking care of their babies, they should pay more attention to observe whether the baby has some abnormal behavior. If the behavior is often abnormal, they should take the child to a regular hospital in time for early detection and early treatment. Don't wait until it is too late to discover it, causing lifelong regrets for the baby.
