Introduction to eye lipoma

Lipoma is a benign tumor that mostly occurs under the skin. There is a thin connective tissue capsule around the tumor, which contains normal fat cells divided into leaf-like groups by connective tissue bundles. Some lipomas contain not only a large amount of adipose tissue but also a lot of connective tissue or blood vessels, forming complex lipomas. So what should we do besides these? Let’s take a look today.

Lipoma is composed of mature adipose tissue. It is more common than fibroma in children and can occur in any part of the body where there is fat. Lipoma has a thin fibrous endothelium with many fibrous cords inside, forming many compartments vertically and horizontally. It is most commonly found in the subcutaneous tissue of the neck, shoulders, back, buttocks, breasts and limbs, face, scalp, scrotum and labia, followed by the retroperitoneum and gastrointestinal wall. Very rarely, it may appear in areas where there was originally no fat tissue. If the tumor contains a larger proportion of fibrous tissue, it is called a fibrolipoma. Lipoma is caused by a thin connective tissue capsule around the tumor, which contains normal fat cells divided into leaf-like groups by connective tissue bundles. Some lipomas contain a lot of connective tissue or blood vessels in addition to a large amount of adipose tissue, forming a complex lipoma.

Symptoms of lipoma: This type of tumor often occurs on the shoulders, back, buttocks and inner thighs, and the head is also common. Lipomas located in the subcutaneous tissue vary in size, most of which are oblate or lobed with clear boundaries. If the boundaries are unclear, beware of the possibility of malignant lipomas. The tumor is soft and elastic (note the difference from larger cysts), and some may have a false sense of fluctuation. The tumor is not adhered to the epidermis, the skin surface is completely normal, and the base is relatively wide. During the examination, if you press the base of the lipoma tightly with your hand, you can see the lobed shape. The skin may appear "orange peel". Tumors develop very slowly, most of them have no serious adverse effects on the body, and very few of them become malignant. In addition, there is another type of multiple round or oval nodular lipomas, which are commonly found subcutaneously on the limbs, waist, and abdomen. The size and number of the tumor are uncertain. It is slightly harder than ordinary lipomas and painful when pressed, so it is called painful lipoma or multiple lipomas.

Lipoma is a tumor of normal fatty tissue that often occurs on the limbs and trunk and generally causes no pain or other discomfort. Lipoma grows slowly. Multiple lipomas are generally small, soft in texture, and may have a pseudocystic feeling. Lipomas often occur in multiple locations and have a family history. If there are no obvious symptoms, no treatment is required. Surgical removal is only required when the following situations occur and there is a possibility of malignant transformation: local pain and discomfort; the tumor is large and affects the appearance or the tumor affects the movement function of the limbs; the tumor grows faster and larger, and there is suspicion of malignant transformation; a single lipoma grows in a deeper part.

Lipoma is not liposarcoma. Liposarcoma is a highly malignant tumor that grows rapidly, is large in size, hard in texture, and is mostly single.

Through the above statements, we know that eye lipoma is caused by subcutaneous tumors under our eyes. Once such a situation occurs, the patient will be separated from normal social interactions, and people with eye lipomas will suffer from cardiovascular circulation disorders. Therefore, if this situation occurs, we must seek medical attention as soon as possible. I hope the above suggestions can help everyone.
