How long does it take for ureteral stones to pass?

Ureteral stones are relatively common urinary stones. As for how long it takes for ureteral stones to be expelled, it depends on the specific size of the stone, the treatment method, etc. For stones smaller than six millimeters, the probability of self-excretion can reach 60% to 80%. Therefore, for such stones, they can be treated with certain Chinese medicines. By taking some stone-expelling drinks, a good therapeutic effect can be achieved. The harm of stones : 1. Causing urinary tract obstruction. This is the most common secondary damage of kidney stones and the main cause of secondary renal damage. Blockage of the urinary tract lumen by kidney stones can cause water accumulation above the blocked area. Kidney stones can cause hydronephrosis for too long, which can obstruct urination and put too much pressure on the blocked parts. This can reduce blood flow to the kidneys, cause renal tubules and necrosis, and cause kidney atrophy and shrinkage, resulting in decreased renal function or complete failure. This is one of the hazards of kidney stones. 2. Stones that cause little local damage but are highly mobile cause very little damage to local tissues. Large and fixed staghorn stones can cause the epithelial cells of the renal calyx and renal pelvis to fall off, leading to ulcers, hyperplasia of fibrous tissue, infiltration of neutrophils and lymphocytes, and even fibrosis. 3. Leading to renal failure If the stones are allowed to develop, they may eventually develop into renal failure, commonly known as uremia. Secondly, if ureteral stones block the ureter, the urine in the kidney cannot be discharged smoothly, which will cause kidney accumulation. Urine will accumulate in the kidney for a long time, leading to secondary infection and even uremia, threatening the patient's life.
