What is mycoplasma positive

What is mycoplasma positive

If the examination shows that mycoplasma is positive, it proves that the patient has been infected with mycoplasma. Mycoplasma is a prokaryotic organism smaller than bacteria. There are many types of mycoplasma, some of which can cause very adverse effects on the human body. Of course, when infected with this mycoplasma, it often induces the occurrence of many diseases. It will have a very serious impact on the patient's reproductive organs, lungs and other organs.

What is mycoplasma positive

After the urogenital tract is infected with mycoplasma, the disease caused is non-gonococcal urethritis in men and non-gonococcal urogenital tract inflammation in women. Male symptoms include urethral itching, burning sensation and difficulty urinating, and a few have frequent urination. The urethral opening is slightly red and swollen, the secretions are thin, and some patients are asymptomatic. Female symptoms include increased vaginal discharge, urethral burning, or pelvic inflammatory disease, salpingitis, etc., which may lead to infertility, miscarriage, and ectopic pregnancy.

Impact 1. Male patients with mycoplasma infection through the urethra may experience symptoms of urethritis and may develop secondary chronic prostatitis. When examining prostatic fluid, active, migratory microbial communities can be seen. Mycoplasma also continues to infect the seminal tract, seminal vesicles and testicles, affecting the quality of sperm and semen and causing infertility. It has been observed that mycoplasma can cause infertility through the following links. Interference with sperm motility: Sperm motility is an important function of healthy sperm and an important indicator of whether sperm can conceive. Moreover, sperm movement must have a certain speed and frequency. After mycoplasma infects sperm, it often attaches to the head and tail of the sperm, making the entire sperm covered with attachments of varying sizes, causing the sperm to swim weakly and entangle with each other, leading to infertility. Increased sperm deformity rate: Mycoplasma infection leads to increased sperm deformity rate, which is another characteristic causing infertility. According to clinical observations, the sperm deformity rate in this type of infertile patients can sometimes be as high as 80%. Destruction of spermatogenic cells: There are a large number of spermatogenic cells in the seminiferous tubules of the testicles, which develop and multiply to form sperm. When mycoplasma enters the seminiferous tubules of the testicles from the urethra, prostate and other parts, it will destroy the spermatogenic cells, causing the "sperm factory" to produce inferior products and lead to infertility.

2. In women, ureaplasma urealyticum can invade the urethra, cervix and Bartholin's glands, causing urethritis, cervicitis and Bartholin's glands; when the infection ascends, it can cause endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease and salpingitis, especially salpingitis. Pathological changes in female reproductive organs caused by ureaplasma infection are an important cause of infertility. Domestic and foreign data suggest that the positive rate of ureaplasma culture in cervical mucus and semen of infertile couples is as high as over 50%. This shows that ureaplasma infection is related to the occurrence of infertility. Another adverse cause of ureaplasma infection is miscarriage. Some people have found that the positive rate of ureaplasma in aborted tissues is as high as over 40%. Therefore, for unexplained miscarriage, especially multiple miscarriages, the possibility of ureaplasma infection should be considered. Inflammatory adhesions of the fallopian tubes caused by incomplete obstruction of the fallopian tubes due to ureaplasma infection can narrow the lumen and make it obstructed, which is also an important cause of ectopic pregnancy.
