Pain when pressing on both sides of the lower abdomen is very common in daily life. It not only causes great harm to the patient's physical health, but also seriously affects their normal life and work. Therefore, it is particularly important to understand the cause and find a scientific and effective treatment method. This condition may be caused by ovulation abdominal pain, ectopic pregnancy, dysmenorrhea, ovarian corpus luteum rupture, and pregnancy-related diseases. 1. Ovulation abdominal pain This situation often occurs in adolescent girls and is a physiological pain. It is mainly caused by the rupture of the egg cell caused by ovulation, which has a certain impact on the abdomen. It is often manifested as unilateral lower abdominal pain, dull pain or distending pain. A few may be accompanied by a small amount of vaginal bleeding, that is, ovulation bleeding. It usually disappears on its own after one or two days, and generally does not exceed seven days. 2. Ectopic pregnancy Ectopic pregnancy refers to the implantation of the gestational sac outside the uterus. Most of these are caused by abnormal fallopian tube development, abnormal fallopian tube function, tumor compression, downward migration of the intrauterine contraceptive device, etc. The most typical symptom is dull pain in the lower abdomen. In addition to abdominal pain, other symptoms of ectopic pregnancy may include cessation of menstruation and occasional vaginal bleeding. 3. Dysmenorrhea Dysmenorrhea is divided into primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea. The former is common in adolescent girls and is related to prostaglandin levels, cold, and emotional and psychological factors in the body. It will generally heal itself with age or marriage and childbirth. Secondary dysmenorrhea is mostly caused by endometriosis and adenomyosis, and is characterized by gradually increasing pain, cyclical attacks, or dull pain in the lower abdomen during non-menstrual periods that worsens before and after menstruation. Other symptoms include infertility and menstrual disorders, which require drug treatment. 4. Ovarian Corpus Luteum Rupture This is caused by excessive bleeding in the corpus luteum, which manifests as sudden onset of lower abdominal or unilateral abdominal pain, and in severe cases, shock may occur. The vast majority of ovarian corpus luteum ruptures occur between the 20th and 26th days of the menstrual cycle, and the lower abdominal pain at the onset varies in severity. Before the corpus luteum of the ovary ruptures, the ovary will experience congestion and swelling. When the ovary is affected by external or indirect external forces, such as during the premenstrual congestion period, it may be induced by straining during bowel movements, trauma, sexual intercourse, or strenuous activity. If you find such symptoms, it is best to go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment immediately. Do not abuse painkillers on your own to avoid masking the symptoms and affecting normal diagnosis and treatment. 5. Pregnancy-related diseases Abdominal pain caused by pregnancy-related diseases can be seen in threatened abortion, ectopic pregnancy, etc. Taking ectopic pregnancy as an example, it can cause dull pain or distension in the adnexal area of the affected side. When the ectopic pregnancy occurs miscarriage or ruptures, it can cause intra-abdominal bleeding. The pain varies depending on the amount and speed of bleeding. In cases of tubal pregnancy miscarriage, abdominal pain is often limited to one side of the lower abdomen, and blood accumulates in the rectouterine pit, which can cause anal pain. If the tubal pregnancy ruptures, the amount of bleeding is large and the speed is fast, and the blood may quickly spread to the entire abdominal cavity and cause pain in the entire abdomen. In addition, those who have had multiple abortions are not only very likely to develop infections such as pelvic inflammatory disease or trauma to the pelvic organs and reproductive tract, but may even endanger their lives. 6. Acute appendicitis Unlike the above reasons, appendicitis is a surgical disease and has nothing to do with gynecology. Depending on the type of appendicitis, the symptoms of abdominal pain are also different: in purulent appendicitis, it is mostly paroxysmal severe pain or bloating; in necrotizing appendicitis, it starts with continuous throbbing pain, and the range of abdominal pain gradually expands and the severity becomes more severe. About 70% to 80% of patients will initially feel pain in the upper abdomen or around the navel, which will turn into right lower abdominal pain after a few hours and may be continuous or paroxysmal. In the early stages, there is often mild nausea and vomiting of food, often accompanied by loss of appetite and constipation. When inflammation is severe, abdominal distension may occur and surgical removal is usually required. |
