How to deal with Chinese medicines that have worms?

Medicine is a very important substance in life, because medicine has the effect of curing diseases and is good for people's health. In particular, Chinese medicine has a very high status in life, because most Chinese medicines are mild and will not cause excessive damage to the body. They are very popular among people. The problem of Chinese medicine deterioration is also common in life. For example, how to deal with Chinese medicine that has worms?

The properties of the medicine have changed and it can no longer be taken. The efficacy of Chinese medicinal materials will not be affected if they are not infested with insects, moldy, or have no changes in quality.

Some traditional precious Chinese medicinal materials are prone to insect infestation and difficult to preserve. If stored improperly, they are more likely to deteriorate and lose their medicinal efficacy. Here are some storage methods for precious Chinese medicinal materials.

1. Bird’s Nest

After drying in the shade or by blow drying, place it in a ventilated, cool and dry place. You can also seal it in a double-layer plastic bag and store it in the refrigerator. Bird's nest should not be exposed to sunlight.

2. Ginseng

There are red ginseng and white ginseng. Red ginseng is generally not easily eaten by insects, but it must be kept dry. When drying, it must be covered with white paper to prevent discoloration. It can be stored in a sealed wooden box or porcelain bottle. White ginseng (raw sun-dried ginseng or sugar-coated ginseng) is prone to insect infestation, mold and discoloration. Insect infestation often occurs on the upper part of the main root and the rhizome (reed head). If it has been exposed to moisture, it should be dried in time and stored in a sealed porcelain bottle to maintain its original color. During the rainy season, it is best to refrigerate it in the refrigerator. It can also be stored in a quicklime jar, but it must not come into direct contact with the quicklime, and too much quicklime should not be put in (about 1/4 of the container). Because ginseng is too dry, it is very easy to break and cause losses. In addition, after American ginseng is dried, it should also be stored in a cool and sealed place. The storage method of Korean ginseng is the same as that of ginseng.

3. Donkey-hide gelatin, deer antler glue, tortoise shell glue

It softens easily when exposed to heat or moisture, but easily breaks when placed in dry and cold places. It can be wrapped in oil paper, buried in rice bran and stored in an airtight container so that the external moist air can be absorbed by the rice bran, thus protecting the medicine. It can also be placed in a double-layer plastic bag, sealed, and stored in a cool and dry place. It is best to store it in a sealed quicklime jar in summer.
