How does moxibustion treat genital warts?

Moxibustion can be said to be a popular health therapy nowadays. It is said that the effect of moxibustion will be different depending on the acupoints, so it is understandable that it can assist in the treatment of various diseases. Clinically, there are patients with genital warts who want to be treated with moxibustion therapy. So is moxibustion an effective method? 1. Symptoms

The skin surface is covered with small growths of various shapes and darker colors. They may be scattered, clustered, or fused together. Multiple warts often occur simultaneously. This disease can heal itself, but can relapse after recovery. The clinical manifestations vary in shape, some are like millet, some are like inverted awns, and the color remains unchanged. Common ones include thousand-day warts, flat warts, mouse milk, filiform warts, and genital warts, which are more common in young people and adults. This section mainly introduces the treatment methods of thousand-day warts, flat warts, mouse milk and filiform warts.

1. Method 1

(1) Select the Ashi point

(2) Locate the Ashi point: the affected area.

(3) Moxibustion: Use moxa sticks to gently moxibustion the affected area. Select acupoints. If there are multiple warts, choose the first wart as the acupoint. Moxibustion for 15 minutes until the area becomes red and burning. Do this once a day. 10 times constitute a course of treatment. After the warts disappear, continue with another course of treatment. Or use mulberry branch moxibustion. Light the mulberry branch, extinguish the fire and apply it directly on the wart until the area turns brown.

2. Method 2

(1) Select the acupoints Ashi, Zhongzhu, Qiuxu, Yuji (see Figure 4-11-1, Figure 4-11-2, Figure 4-11-3)

(2) Locate the Ashi point: the affected area.

Zhongzhu: On the back of the hand, in the depression 2 cm below the base of the little finger and ring finger.

Qiuxu: The depression on the lateral side of the extensor digitorum longus tendon, located in the anterior and inferior part of the lateral malleolus.

Thenar eminence: At the midpoint of the metacarpal bone of the thumb, where the skin of the palm and the back of the hand meet.

(3) Moxibustion: Use moxa sticks to gently moxibustion the affected area. Select acupoints. If there are multiple warts, choose the first wart as the acupoint. Moxibustion for 15 minutes until the area becomes red and burning. Do this once a day. 10 times constitute a course of treatment. After the warts disappear, continue with one more course of treatment.
