1. Causes of hyposmia

It is common in people with head trauma, spinal tuberculosis, mental illness, debility, neurasthenia, etc. In addition, taking certain medications, such as aminopyrine, often causes olfactory perversion.

4. Causes of phantom smell

It refers to a person smelling an odor that does not actually exist, and is often some disgusting and strange odor, such as "burning rubber", "burning chicken feathers", "rotten eggs", "rotting corpse" and so on. It is common in patients with schizophrenia, epilepsy, fright disease and neurasthenia. Normal people may also experience olfactory hallucinations when they are extremely tired, extremely scared, extremely cold, extremely hungry, lonely for a long time, or under the effects of certain drugs.
