What is the poison behind the red spots from scraping?

What is the poison behind the red spots from scraping?

Gua Sha is a relatively common treatment method in traditional Chinese medicine. It has the function of curing and preventing diseases, promoting blood circulation, dredging meridians, and can also achieve good results in strengthening physical fitness. The red dots we usually scrape out when scraping are a phenomenon of sha. If there are usually cold, damp heat and other conditions, the sha will be more obvious. At this time, you must pay attention to avoid catching a cold and keep warm.

What is the poison behind the red spots from scraping?

The appearance of red spots after scraping is a phenomenon of sha. If there is wind-cold, summer-dampness, heat, blood stasis blocking the meridians, etc. in the body, sha can be scraped out. This is because these symptoms may cause local meridian blockage, thereby causing blood stasis, and the sha scraped out is the manifestation of these blood stasis areas. The amount of sha that appears will be affected by many factors. Different causes of disease will result in different amounts of sha. The red spots caused by scraping indicate that toxins in the body are accumulated on the epidermis. This is a relatively mild symptom and patients do not need to worry. The red spots that appear after scraping will disappear on their own and will not have any adverse effects on the body.

Is it better to have more scraping marks?

Gua Sha does not mean the more scraping marks the better. Gua Sha is based on the skin theory of traditional Chinese medicine. It uses instruments (ox horn, jade, cupping jars) to scrape the relevant parts of the skin to achieve the purpose of dredging meridians, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. But it is worth noting that many people think that the highest level of scraping must be to feel unbearable pain and scrape it horribly.

In fact, this is a wrong view. The more painful scraping is, the more effective it is, nor is it better if the area is scraped black and purple. In fact, you can stop scraping when the sha appears on the area that you are scraping and turns slightly red or purple. If the scraping area and force are not properly controlled, and one only pursues the color of the scraping, it will not only be ineffective, but may also cause skin and flesh damage.

The amount of sha that appears will be affected by many factors. Different causes of disease will result in different amounts of sha. Some people are too weak, and it is not easy for them to get sha even if their illness is very serious. In addition, when the room temperature is low, the sha is often not obvious. This is mainly because when the weather is cold, the human body's blood circulation is poor, so the sha is relatively less.

Who should not do scraping?

1. People with severe cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, liver and kidney dysfunction, and general edema. 3. Do not perform scraping on areas with boils, ulcers, sores, rashes and lumps of unknown cause on the body surface, otherwise it will lead to infection and spread of the wound.

4. Scraping is prohibited on the painful areas of acute sprains, trauma or fractures, as it will aggravate the bleeding of the wound.

5. People who are infected with contact skin diseases should avoid using scraping, as it may transmit the disease to others.

6. People with bleeding tendency, such as patients with advanced diabetes, severe anemia, leukemia, aplastic anemia and thrombocytopenia, should not perform scraping, because the subcutaneous bleeding produced by scraping in these patients is not easily absorbed.

7. People who are too hungry, too tired or drunk should not be subjected to gravity or large-area scraping, otherwise they will suffer from collapse.

8. Scraping is prohibited on the eyes, lips, tongue, ear holes, nostrils, nipples, navels and other parts, because scraping will cause congestion of these mucous membranes and will not heal.
