Gentian Dosage

Gentian Dosage

Gentiana is a very common Chinese medicinal material in our daily life. Many people often use gentian to make tea. If gentian is used as medicine and soaked in water, it not only has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, but also has sedative and blood pressure lowering effects. However, there is a certain amount of gentian when using it. Don't use it indiscriminately. If the dosage of gentian is incorrect, it will not only be of no benefit to your health, but also harmful.

How much gentian should be used?

For internal use: decoct in water, 3-6g; or make into pills or powder. For external use: take appropriate amount, decoct in water and wash; or grind into powder and apply on affected area.

Taboos of drinking gentian soaked in water

1. Patients with poor spleen and stomach should not drink gentian tea to avoid increasing the burden on the spleen and stomach, causing the spleen and stomach to catch cold and resulting in indigestion and diarrhea.

2. Gentiana can treat constipation after taking it, but it is not suitable for patients with diarrhea to avoid worsening diarrhea and even threatening life safety.

3. If you want to drink gentian tea to maintain your health and cure diseases, you must be patient, because the healing process of this Chinese medicinal material is relatively long. It is best to use gentian together with other Chinese medicinal materials to enhance the efficacy.

4. Gentiana cannot be taken for a long time, otherwise the body is prone to dizziness and fatigue.

5. Avoid taking the wrong medicine. This is a situation that needs to be avoided when taking many medicines, otherwise your life safety cannot be guaranteed. Gentiana is cold in nature, so it is best not to use it for some inappropriate disease symptoms.

6. When taking gentian, the dosage should not be too large, otherwise it will cause unhealthy stimulation to the stomach and intestines, and the digestion of food will also be affected. Taking large doses of ochre-red medicinal materials may also cause some contraindications and side effects in the body, such as dizziness, flushed face and ears, and slow heart rate.

7. Gentian is not suitable to be taken on an empty stomach to avoid abdominal pain and diarrhea.

The correct way to use gentian and how much to use

If the Chinese medicinal herb gentian is made into pills or boiled in water for consumption, the dosage should be controlled between three grams and six grams. If it is for external use, the dosage can be increased appropriately. In addition to the use of gentian water, we usually use this Chinese herbal medicine to make Longgan Xiedan Pills, which are effective and easy to take.

This kind of Longgan Xiedan Pills had detailed written records as early as the Jin Dynasty, nearly a thousand years ago, which is enough to show the excellent wisdom of the Chinese people. This medicinal material can effectively treat some problems such as red face, bitter mouth and deafness after taking it, and promote the body's recovery.
