What to do if you feel a little depressed

Emotions affect our lives, such as happiness, anger, sorrow, and joy, including depression. Depression is a condition in which you feel unhappy and have no interest in anything. When depression occurs, you should go to the hospital for examination in time. This disease is not big, but it is not small either. However, if it is not treated in time, it will lead to very serious consequences. So what should you do if you feel a little depressed?

Depression, also known as depressive disorder, is the main type of mood disorder with significant and persistent low mood as its main clinical feature. Clinically, it can be seen that the depressed mood is disproportionate to the situation. The depression of mood can range from melancholy to grief, inferiority and depression, and even pessimism and world-weariness. There may be suicidal attempts or behaviors; even stupor; some cases have obvious anxiety and motor agitation; severe cases may have psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations and delusions. Each attack lasts for at least 2 weeks, or even several years in the elderly. Most cases tend to recur. Most attacks can be relieved, but some may have residual symptoms or become chronic.

The treatment of depressive episodes should achieve three goals: 1. Improve the clinical cure rate and minimize the disability and suicide rates. The key is to completely eliminate clinical symptoms; 2. Improve the quality of life and restore social functions; 3. Prevent relapse.

Medication is the main treatment for moderate or severe depressive episodes. Commonly used drugs mainly include selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, norepinephrine and specific serotonergic antidepressants, etc.
