Clinical manifestations of cerebral leukodemyelination

Clinical manifestations of cerebral leukodemyelination

White matter is an important substance in the human brain. Various diseases can occur in the white matter, and the typical response of the white matter to various harmful stimuli is demyelinating changes, that is, demyelination of the white matter. It mainly includes: multiple sclerosis, progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, acute sporadic encephalomyelitis, subacute sclerosing panencephalitis, central pontine myelinolysis, corpus callosum degeneration, subcortical arteriosclerotic encephalopathy and concentric sclerosis, etc. Let us now understand the clinical manifestations of this disease.

Demyelination of the white matter in the corona radiata is also called demyelinating encephalopathy. Demyelinating encephalopathy is a variety of pathological changes caused by damaging the autonomic nerves of the white matter of the brain and causing them to become disordered and unable to regulate themselves to nourish the tissues in the innervated areas (it is an immune nervous system disease).

The early symptoms of the disease are very mild and not obvious, and are often easily ignored. The clinical symptoms occasionally include dazed look, restlessness, dizziness, headache, abnormal vision or brain discomfort, as well as mild local numbness, muscle weakness, etc. Improper treatment can easily lead to relapse and delayed nerve damage. In severe cases, the entire central nervous system may be invaded, resulting in nerve function damage, spastic paralysis and life-threatening. Early treatments are mostly based on hormone and nutritional therapy, but the efficacy is difficult to control, and the side effects can cause the body's immune system to decline. Occasionally, viral infections and inflammatory infections will cause the disease to relapse, causing nerve damage again and further aggravating the symptoms. If the damaged nerves are not treated correctly, they will relapse and develop delayed multifocal sclerosis or lesion softening, and further damage to the nerves will lead to secondary dementia or spastic paralysis.

The best chance of recovery lies in early treatment. Without providing any information, I can only offer you a theoretical treatment plan: a combination of Chinese and Western medicine to enhance immunity, improve the body's ability to resist disease, chronic anti-inflammatory treatment to prevent inflammation from damaging the nerves again, improve blood flow to the affected nerves to nourish the nerves, regulate nerve softening scars to prevent further aggravation of delayed ischemia of the lesions, and at the same time stimulate and activate the nerves to regenerate and repair the lesions, prevent recurrence of the disease, restore optimal neurological function and achieve early recovery.
