Legs feel heavy and sore

Legs feel heavy and sore

In daily life, we often experience leg pain and soreness, which is often caused by excessive fatigue. General leg pain and soreness will generally get better over time, but don't underestimate leg pain and soreness. The feeling of heaviness and soreness in the legs will have a certain impact on our daily work and study, so they need to be relieved in time.

Why are my legs so heavy and sore?

First: The root causes of back pain in most people are muscle and ligament strain, herniated disc, degenerative arthritis (commonly known as bone spurs), spondylolisthesis, and musculoskeletal pain syndrome.

Second: When the spinal nerves are compressed by bone spurs or intervertebral discs, the thighs, calves and feet will become numb, and in severe cases there will be severe cramping pain. This is the so-called sciatica. Due to osteoporosis, compression fractures are likely to occur in the intervertebral discs. In addition to spinal pain, the pain will also extend to the chest.

Third: bending, twisting the waist, lifting heavy objects, pushing heavy objects, falling, sitting for a long time, standing for a long time, bad posture, too soft bed, wearing high heels, pregnancy...etc. In addition to the above reasons, other diseases that may cause back pain include: ankylosing spondylitis, osteoporosis, lumbar fractures, spinal tumors, etc.

Fourth: After strenuous exercise, most people will experience muscle soreness 12 to 48 hours after exercise. If you are not used to exercise and this is your first training session, the soreness will be more obvious. The scientific name for this type of soreness is: delayed onset muscle soreness. Since the muscle microstructure is damaged after training, hot baths or hot compresses will accelerate blood circulation in the injured muscles, thereby aggravating the damage to the muscle microstructure. If you take a hot bath after heavy weight training, you will definitely feel more sore the next day than if you take a cold bath. At the same time, hot baths accelerate the metabolism of muscle tissue. The training before the hot bath has already consumed a large amount of muscle glycogen in the muscles. Using a hot bath to continue to accelerate metabolism will increase fatigue and even lower blood sugar.

Precautions

When women experience leg soreness, swelling and numbness, if the condition is severe, they need early treatment, such as more rest or massage.
